Even though Zachariah is a priest and even though he desires from his heart that God gives him this answered prayer it is very clear from the encounter with Archangel Gabriel that Zachariah wasn't ready to receive it. Has this ever happened to you before? When you think you really want something, you think you believe that God is going to give it to you? Will you say that you believe in your heart that God can answer your prayers. You say with your lips that you believe in miracles but then when God answers your prayer, when God is willing to do the
miracle, we discover that we are the ones who get in the way of it. We act as if we are ready, we speak to Him from our hearts, but when the Lord says, "I am ready, I will give it to you" it turns out we were not ready at all.

We Are Not Ready To Change

This hymn to be chanted on fasting days and on the weekends of Great Lent in the procession of the Lamb, according to the Rites & Tradition of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

The thought of man
shall confess You O Lord.
And the remainder of thought,
shall keep a feast to You.
The sacrifices and the offerings,
receive them to Yourself.
