I’ve enjoyed the 303 sound for awhile now. I’ve been incorporating it melodically in a couple of recent works… but I wanted to skew off and create a faster, harder, grittier track. “DRUNK” combines that old acid house sound with the more contemporary feel of tech house today: custom robotic vocals, grainy kicks, vintage synths, hectic 303s, classic fx, etc. all combined to create my second hard house original that expresses the intoxicating feeling of hearing acid house live. Is it the acid? Is it the whiskey? No! It’s this f**king music!

With ‘Represent’, I wanted to follow ‘Thing’ up with something a bit harder-hitting to round out the EP. I was having fun with the bounce and groove of the track and playing around with vocal chops, when I started to hear “Represent for the brothers who ain’t here” in the vocals. It really resonated with me and had me thinking, ‘yea I’ve got to keep holding it down for my friend, E’. Along with that, I wanted it to pay homage and respect to everyone who has influenced my sound and life across the board.
