Drunken Kong step up for their Drumcode debut. 

Residents at Tokyo’s legendary Womb, the duo has notched up a string of quality releases on labels including Tronic, Terminal M and Octopus over the years, reinforcing themselves as one of Japan’s most treasured techno acts. 

Drunken Kong have a distinct sound signature, as dreamy melodic and vocal elements rub shoulders with the pair’s trademark groove-orientated rhythms to create hypnotic techno outings that span the breadth of the genre, from heads down rollers to peak-time pleasure.

Their maiden outing on Drumcode is an inspiring four-track work ‘I Want To See’ that lays down this sonic manifesto, with each track built around different vocal samples used to skilful effect. EP opener ‘It’s Then’ brings atmosphere in spades, mixing up a chugging bottom end, a sleek synth line and a sublime vocal that simmers throughout. The title track is another late-night dancefloor affair that shifts between function and fun, as a slick mix of polished grooves and hypnotising melodies build towards 
a thrilling crescendo. ‘That’s It’ brings peak-time energy against a plump electro backbone and ’90-tinged vocal. The EP rounds out with evocative ‘Need It’, as a stirring vox and metallic drumlines propel the track forward.

Seasoned Swiss producer, KHAINZ, fresh back from rocking the Half Moon festival in Thailand and announcing his forthcoming Tomorrowland solstice, peaks again with a debut release for Joris Voorn's Spectrum.

A brilliant brace is fronted by the title track 'The Drift'... 'When I synthesized the bass of The Drift I knew it could be something great!'
The coarseness of the synth adds a layer of dirt and imposing power, which together with the contrasting pureness of its melody works to create a powerful dancefloor moment.

The techno tandem is complete with 'Elevation,' a track that reaches new heights via its growling, all-conquering bassline. 'The bass definitely makes Elevation unique and it works so well on the dancefloor. Both tracks are extremely punchy, whilst not being too hard.'

The latest release from Astral Records welcomes ReCorpo back to the label for his debut EP. The Italian artist has compiled an impressive discography since creating the moniker ReCorpo in 2021. ICONYC, Nova Collective and Suprematic have served as landing spots for his atmospheric brand of Melodic House and Techno, while the genre's tastemakers have chimed in with support. Also, no stranger to Astral Records, the Naples resident made his label debut with the lead selection on 'Momentum', a critically acclaimed Various Artists EP from April of last year. Now, on the strength of releases via Rikodisco and Eye and Eye, ReCorpo returns to Astral with 'Tear', alongside a remix from Paul Anthonee.

The release concludes with Paul Anthonee returning to the label with the lone interpretation of 'Tear'. Acting as the label's AandR, the Cyprus based producer has been a primary contributor to the imprint since its inaugural offering two years ago. Anthonee has recorded ten originals and two remixes for the Greek imprint, appearing most recently with his heavily supported 'The Machines' EP. Now, continuing what has been a standout year, Paul returns to Astral with an inspired revision of 'Tear'. Drawing inspiration from the original, Paul layers flickering percussive arrangements and arcane electronics atop punchy beats and rippling grooves. Mysterious and thought-provoking throughout, it's a heady amalgamation of sound which makes for an energetic yet atmospheric journey, elegantly melting down to cinematic phrasing, fluttery vocal gates and hopeful melodies, before a cluster of astral sonics sparks an immense finale.

Brothers Julien & Raphael Piacentino aka Esoteric Circle, have been making waves with a run of recent productions on labels including Oddity and Eleatics. With a talent and touch for spine-tingling compositions, the French duo have worked their way into the sets, and shared the stages, with some of the finest purveyors of melodic house and techno of today.

Making their debut on Joris Voorn's Spectrum imprint, the brothers serve up a stunning double slice of cosmic finery in 'Moonshard' and 'Oblivion'.

The title track with its cascading synths, sweeping strings and cavernous chords creates a majestic dancefloor moment, while 'Oblivion', as its name suggests, treads a darker path. Tracer-like snares fire, bassline growls, and crater kicks drop from the heavens. All wrapped in an impressively melodic melancholy.
