Drifting Off

So I flipped this sample years ago but wanted to use my MPC X to reimagine it this time. It’s another song about grief, as yesterday would have been my late Grandad’s 95th birthday. He died 2 weeks after my Nan to the day in 2015, and we had to have a joint funeral which super fucked me up for years as I had to deal with it not knowing I was bipolar at the time, and the extreme emotions really took me out, along with the PTSD I had from watching them both die over a period of a few months 😞 I lived with both of them for 28 years until I left home, so they were like my second parents. I took a hiatus from music and SoundCloud back then, but I’m slowly building my following up again now after all these years. It sounded like crying in audio form with that guitar lick in the verses, to me. Anyways I hope this track captures something and can maybe be relatable to those of you who have lost someone dear in your lives, and just know you will see them again one day 🙏🏼
