This was played live 11th October 2007 in Rome, at Stazione Birra. It was recorded stereo direct from the mixing desk and I just mastered it to level the sounds a bit.

In 2010 Anathema released We’re Here Because We’re Here, the band’s first new album for almost seven years. Anathema have been at the forefront of the UK rock/metal movement for many years. They began their journey as pioneers of melodic heavy music, influencing a myriad of bands to follow them, before outgrowing all genres and limitations as they fearlessly explored new territory and new ways to express feeling through sound.

Formed in Liverpool in 1990, the band’s sound, and musical vision has continually evolved over the ensuing years while always remaining true to their original goal of creating forward thinking, meaningful, passionate and honest music. The line-up is really a collective of two families who were quite simply born to do it. Anathema consists of brothers Vincent, Daniel and Jamie Cavanagh, alongside childhood friends John Douglas and his sister Lee, who is an incredible singer in her own right.

There is a deeper bond in the group that transcends usual band politics, ego, and self-interest. They have a shared vision: to make the most incredible music they possibly can, and it seems, despite the lavish praise heaped on the band for their past work, that they are now taking their work to a whole new level.

Fog Electric, the new album from North Atlantic Oscillation 
Fog Electric is the follow-up to Grappling Hooks, the band’s debut which received massive critical acclaim when it was released in 2010. This praise included being named as Zane Lowe’s album of the week on his BBC Radio 1 show and further radio support followed including sessions on 6 Music, BBC Scotland and BBC Introducing.

NAO are the Scottish based trio of Sam Healy (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, synths, sax, percussion), Ben Martin (drums, percussion, programming) and Chris Howard (bass, synth bass, vocals). They describe themselves as playing their instruments within a computerised wall of sound and they have been labelled prog-pop and electro-rock, but really they just make music. The music has soaring harmonies and loud guitars 
and dreamy synths and heavy drums and strange effects and unexpected changes-of-mind.

Fog Electric has been recorded and produced by Tony Doogan(Super Furry Animals, Mogwai, Teenage Fanclub, Belle & Sebastian) and looks set to lift the band to even higher levels.

Kscope is pleased to announce the release of 'Not The Weapon But The Hand', the debut album from Steve Hogarth and Richard Barbieri.

Hogarth is best known as the frontman of Marillion, the progressive rock legends that he joined in 1989, following spells in The Europeans and How We Live. In addition to the 12 studio albums Marillion have released in this time, he has also recorded and toured as a solo artist, under the moniker H.

In recent years Richard Barbieri has been a core member of Porcupine Tree playing keyboards on all the band’s albums since 1993 as well as releasing two solo albums, Things Buried and Stranger Inside. Prior to this, it was in the new-wave pioneers Japan that he originally came to prominence, helping to create the groundbreaking synthesiser sound that defined the band and influenced the likes of The human league, Duran Duran, Gary Numan, Talk Talk, Kate bush and a whole raft of other artists, including Hogarth.

A few years ago, Porcupine Tree played some shows with Marillion and Steve invited Richard to be part of The h band on his Ice Cream Genius album. This association developed into what hogarth describes as "an easy working relationship which rapidly became an understanding beyond music."

It wasn’t surprising then that the duo decided to collaborate on a joint project, a venture they have been working on for the past few years, the results of which can be heard on Not The Weapon But The Hand. "It also goes beyond what you might expect from the two of us... The album consists of music which is at times moving, complex, multi-layered (both instrumentally and vocally) spooky, goofy and of course, very personal to me."
Not The Weapon But The Hand was completed in late 2011 and features occasional appearances from Danny Thompson on double bass, Arran Ahmun (John Martyn) and Chris Maitland (ex-Porcupine Tree) on drums and guitar and string arrangement contributions from Dave Gregory (XTC).

The album is the latest step for the band who over the last few years have truly emerged onto a higher stage... bigger and better tours, triumphant festival slots, recording at Peter Gabriel’s Real World studios, artwork designed by Storm Thorgerson and new management all give the sense of act who are destined for greater things.

Much of this is down to the band’s 2010 album, Someone Here Is Missing, and the reaction it received. While this release, along with 2008’s Tightly Unwound, was many people’s introduction to the band they have actually spent the past ten years quietly building up a dedicated fan base across the globe, selling over 50,000 records and nurturing their ‘bittersweet’ progressive sound.

All The Wars marks another leap in the band’s progression, as frontman Bruce Soord continues to mature as a songwriter and the band’s ever growing confidence and status allows them to move in bold musical directions, including the use of a 22-piece string section and a choir. Soord explains, ‘no expense has been spared regarding the production of this record but at its heart it’s still a rock record. It’s very heavy in parts and very delicate and beautiful in others.’

Following Storm Thorgerson's cover for Someone Here Is Missing, the artwork for this album features images created by the award winning photographer Mark Mawson as part of his Aqueous series. Shots from the Aqueous project were recently projected onto Buckingham Palace as the background to Paul McCartney's performance of Magical Mystery Tour during the diamond jubilee celebrations.

The Limited 2CD digibook edition with bonus disc featuring exclusive acoustic versions of tracks from the album plus a 2012 version of ‘Light Up Your Eyes’.

North Atlantic Oscillation have teamed up with fellow soundscape creators Nedry for a remix swap, with the Edinburgh duo putting their own hypnotic spin on Nedry’s ‘Float’. Nedry, in turn, have broken through North Atlantic Oscillation’s all-consuming wall of sound to add a sense of space and calm to ‘Fog Electric’s brilliant first single, ‘Soft Coda’ and you can stream both below.
 
The Nedry remix of ‘Soft Coda’ is available now as the B-side to North Atlantic Oscillation’s current single ‘Savage with Barometer’. 

Having recently released a remixed version of their album ‘In a Dim Light’, London-based trio Nedry have now had North Atlantic Oscillation put their own twist on ‘Float’. They’ve stripped away Nedry’s trademark fidgeting rhythms, built in a warming, tumbling flow of drum beats to create something typical of North Atlantic Oscillation: atmospheric and suitably beautiful. NEW 2 DISC SET FROM PORCUPINE TREE FEATURING ‘THE INCIDENT’ LIVE FROM CHICAGO

The past year has been a busy period for the various members of Porcupine Tree. Steven Wilson is currently gathering rave reviews for his solo records and accompanying tours and also embarked on a rare tour with No-Man, Richard Barbieri has released an acclaimed album with Steve Hogarth from Marillion, Gavin Harrison has continued is successful partnership with 05Ric and Colin Edwin has being working on a solo record along with a new album from his Metallic Taste of Blood project.

Despite all this activity, fans of the band have still been clamouring for a new Porcupine Tree release. This wait ends on November 19th with the release of Octane Twisted¸ a double disc live set recorded during the tour that supported The Incident, the band's most recent album.

The Incident went top 30 in both the UK and USA, and the world tour climaxed with sold out shows at Royal Albert Hall in London and Radio City Music Hall in New York.

The album marked another step forward in the incredible journey of the band from a solo studio project created by Steven Wilson in the late eighties to a grammy nominated act and one of the world’s most revered live band.

Octane Twisted features the album in its entirety recorded in Chicago. The second CD contains 5 tracks classic PT tracks also recorded in Chicago along with 3 highlights from the band's landmark show at Royal Albert Hall.

A special edition of Octane Twisted will also be available which will include a DVD of the Chicago show.

Porcupine Tree - I Drive The Hearse (from Octane Twisted)

Formed in Oslo in 1996 by childhood friends Jon-Arne Vilbo and Thomas Andersen along with Jan-Henrik Ohme (later joined by Mikael Krømer, Lars Erik Asp and Kristian Torp), Gazpacho have honed their unique sound over a string of critically acclaimed albums and numerous tours, including several with long-time supporters Marillion.

Night was originally released in 2007. A musical interpretation of a dream or stream of consciousness, it was the band's first true concept album in that it is one long song split into five parts. This structure attempts to recreate the pattern of a dream where the mind of the dreamer floats in and out of different memories and worlds. The album explores the question of where dreams end and reality begins and the mind as the tool that has to decide what to believe. During the dream the 'character' travels through various memories, both real and imagined, and sees the world from the angles of different people. Jon-Arne describes the album as being, 'about life and the various ways of interpreting existence.'

Night was Gazpacho's fourth studio album and was the album that introduced the band to a much larger audience. Despite the high regard with which the album is held, by fans and the band alike, there has always been a few small issues with aspects of the sound that have bugged the band and other features of the songs which have emerged through playing them live for the last five years. This new Kscope edition of the album has allowed the band to address these issues while still remaining faithful to the original.

For the new edition, which is packaged in a deluxe digi-book and comes with a bonus disc, the band wanted to re-record the drums and once they started this process they found that there were a few other tweaks that could be made. Thomas explains the changes that they made, 'we re-recorded the drums and some of the vocals that were distorted in the original recording session. We also added some of the tracks that were left off the original version to add further depth to the sound. We also remixed and for the first time for Night, mastered it at Cutting Room Studios in Stockholm.'

The second disc features live versions of the opening 3 tracks from <em>Night</em>, recorded at the Gloria Theatre in Cologne during the European tour to support their acclaimed 2012 album, March Of Ghosts. Here is the live version of 'Upside Down' from the bonus disc.

Grappling Hooks, the debut album from North Atlantic Oscillation was released last year on Kscope. The album received massive critical acclaim including being named as Zane Lowe’s Album of the Week on his BBC Radio 1 show.

The band have been described as prog-pop and electro-rock, but really they just make music. The music has soaring harmonies and loud guitars and dreamy synths and heavy drums and strange effects and unexpected changes-of-mind.

NAO are the Scottish based trio of Sam Healy (vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, synths, sax, percussion), Ben Martin (drums, percussion, programming) and Bill Walsh (bass, synth bass, vocals). They describe themselves as playing their instruments within a computerised wall of sound.
