It was inspired by the passing of the legendary Phil K, Australian breaks and progressive house dj, artist and generally awesome guy who inspired me more than anyone else with my music over the years. Once I finished my last mix, I had already mixed a lot of my all time breaks favourites so I had to start from scratch with new ideas. Searching the interwebs for inspiration, the stuff I kept gravitating to had a strong electro feel. Smooth synths, cold drums and funky bass, but with melodies I could work with. The mix also peaks with some dancefloor-destroying acid mayhem. You have been warned.
