Essentials Fall 2022 takes us back to Chillville, where the hot days are behind us and the cozy days are ahead. Where we last left them, our favorite Raccoon and friends were enjoying a rooftop party and some warm summer nights. Now, our mascot is putting away shorts and sunglasses (in exchange for a yellow hoodie) and enjoying a solo day around the big city. The days are growing more chill, so grab a scarf, pour some coffee, and continue exploring.

With 25 tracks and nearly 40 artists and musicians, Essentials Fall 2022 is our newest seasonal offering since launching the compilation series back in 2016. Lofi and soothing, jazzy and laid-back, press play as you watch the leaves fall.

UK producers illiterate and Mr. Slipz bring the boom bap vibes for their new collaborative beat tape. At eight songs, the project blends jazzy piano medleys with hard-hitting drums and bass. Horns come and go alongside synths and bass and claps and kicks. Meshing a golden era / old school sound with a modern take on instrumental hip-hop, this project feels like a quintessential listen for beat enthusiasts. An upbeat comfort tape to close out the year. 

This project is the sixth in a series of ongoing beat tapes released through Chillhop Music. While this is the final one of 2022, look out the next to arrive in early 2023.

Mr Slipz, illiterate - Sueños

"Midnight symbolizes the end of the day and the beginning of a new one." Leejin stated in a Maryland based radio show and with this concept, he describes the ending of the old era of his music 
& uses this Digital concept as a realm for this work, produced by JRNI & others. He uses this Digital theme to describe the end result of past losses, leaving him to be numb. In this "light", he embodies himself as a robot in a metaphoric sense of being numb & refers to social media as the "Motherboard". it being the mother of communication in this age, Leejin says "Its like a child going to their mother and explaining how they feel." As we carelessly tell social media our pov & with the end result of being in a group to a solo artist, family separation, betrayal in tight circles, joining & leaving an indie label from 2017-2019, holding all seraphim members new content, an extra 2yrs recovering all the lost data & funds that made this EP possible, SunGod Sol is just an android analyzing all of its computed emotions.
