“In Vrindavan” is a new Music Video and Single by the Kirtaniyas featuring children from Food for Life Vrindavan, an all girl’s charity school run on donation basis in Vrindavan, India. 

This release is part of a fundraising effort to bring support and attention to the school’s projects and to encourage learning of Kirtan, sacred mantra singing. 

*Personal statement from Vijay Krsna, band and project leader, founder of Sriyam Records:

"I've visited India over 14 times and spent a total of three years of my life in this sacred land of Vrindavan. Its culture offers so much to the world from agriculture, Dharma, community and music amongst other things, all in their most essential forms - Bhakti Yoga. This song was inspired by folk songs of the land, which speak about walking through Vrindavan’s flower groves and forests in fellowship, singing to its Divine couple - Radha and Syama (a name of Krishna), who are the epitome of pure love and beauty, the sacred river Yamuna that provided water to the land and its people. This way of life has been kept alive through the hearts of the people in the community who have imbibed its moods of pure love and devotion (Bhakti) and carry it with them, sharing Bhakti through their acts of selfless service but the benefit of One and all.

Each time I visit the Food for Life school in Vrindavan, I am a witness to the impressive development of its projects and values. I see how their schooling has cultivated love and compassion in the hearts of these children. Their school day starts in a way that I could only have dreamed about when I was a child : a good kirtan with cheerful, inspirational singing and dancing. This is a place where children are taught to honor their elders and have respect for one another, where folding hands in a prayer is a beautiful thing, rather than something to be ashamed of… We can certainly learn a thing or two in our Western society from such an establishment. Whilst this school might not be comparable to most Western schools with regards to facilities, what these children have taught me is that their education and upbringing can certainly offer us lessons in gratitude. “In Vrindavan” is me giving something back in return and I give thanks for the opportunity to serve in this way.”

Эта мантра называется Мантрой первичных звуков, потому что она состоит из пяти первичных звуков: Са, Tа, На, Mа, и ах. Буквальный смысл таков: Са – означает рождение (или бесконечность); Та – это жизнь; Нa – означает смерть, и Ма – возрождения. Таким образом, мантра описывает вечный круговорот жизни: рождение, жизнь, смерть, возрождение.

Медитация СА ТА НА МА


Сядьте с прямой спиной и сосредоточьте внимание в точке между бровей. Пойте СА ТА НА МА. Попеременно надавливая большим пальцем на четыре других(указательный, средний... мизинец, указательный...). Надавливайте достаточно сильно, чтобы чувствовать давление. Продолжайте в стабильном ритме повторять мантру и движение руками во время всей медитации.

Представляйте или чувствуйте, как каждый звук проходит в коронную чакру через макушку головы и спускается вниз через центр головы, выходя в Бесконечность через Третий глаз. Очень важно проделывать это с каждым звуком. Это необходимый этап процесса очищения. Если пропустить эту часть мантры могут возникнуть головные боли.
Медитируя, вы можете видеть в уме картинки из прошлого, мелькающие как на экране. Позвольте им плясать перед глазами и освободитесь от них с помощью мантры. Это процесс очищения подсознания.

1. Первые 5 минут пойте вслух (голос человеческого общения)
2. Следующие 5 минут пойте громким шёпотом (язык любви).
3. Следующие 10 минут пойте беззвучно (язык Божественного)
Продолжайте выполнять мудры, визуализируя L-образное движение звука в голове и двигайте языком, мысленно произнося мантру.
4. Пойте 5 минут шёпотом.
5. Последние 5 минут вслух.
6. В последнюю минуту слушайте себя, услышьте мантру и ощутите L –образный поток звука в голове. В это время не нужно выполнять мудры.

Оптимальное время этой медитации 31 минута. Её можно также выполнять 62 минуты, удвоив время.

Закончив медитацию, глубоко вдохните, поднимите руки и энергично потрясите ими, расслабляя кисти и пальцы. Вы можете сотрясать всё тело и позвоночник. Выдохните. Повторите 1-2 раза по желанию. Это важная часть медитации, помогающая перемещать и высвобождать энергию в теле.  Расслабляйтесь в течение нескольких минут, прежде чем отправляться по своим делам.

Perpetually immersed in singing, dancing, and heartfelt singing, Kīrtan [of the name, form, qualities, pastimes, associates, and realm] of Shrī Krishna, the six Goswāmīs embody the ocean of nectarean love. Dear to both gentlemen and ruffians, always engaged in pleasing activities, and completely free from envy, they are adored by all. They are the recipients of Shrī Chaitanya’s mercy, and they therefore remove the burden of the earth. I worship Shrī Rūpa, Shrī Sanātana, Shrī Raghunātha Bhatta, Shrī Raghunātha dāsa, Shrī Jīva, and Shrī Gopāla Bhatta [the six Goswāmīs].
 
They are distinctively expert in ascertaining the essence of all revealed scriptures, and they establish the supreme occupation of the soul, devotion to God. They are the true benefactors of the people, worshipful for the three worlds, and affectionate to those who have taken shelter of them. Due to the bliss of divine service, bhajana, on the lotus feet of Shrī Rādhā-Krishna, they have become like intoxicated honeybees. I worship Shrī Rūpa, Sanātana, Raghunātha Bhatta, Raghunātha dāsa, Jīva, and Gopāla Bhatta Goswāmīs. 

They fully abandoned at once the association of kingly aristocracy, deeming it insignificant, and out of compassion became poor, accepting only loincloths and ragged quilts. Thereafter, they repeatedly immersed themselves in the delightful, billowing waves in the nectarean ocean of rasa—the bhāvs, spiritual emotions, felt by the gopīs. I worship Shrī Rūpa, Sanātana, Raghunātha Bhatta, Raghunātha dāsa, Jīva, and Gopāla Bhatta Goswāmīs.

Crowded with sweetly cooing cuckoos, swans, and cranes, as well as groups of peacocks, Vrindāvan a is shining beautifully with trees that have many transcendental gems inlaid beneath their roots. There, day and night, the Goswāmīs intensely worship Shrī Shrī Rādhā and Krishna, thus endowing all the souls with the ultimate benefit of life. I worship Shrī Rūpa, Sanātana, Raghunātha Bhatta, Raghunātha dāsa, Jīva, and Gopāla Bhatta Goswāmīs.

They would pass their time by daily chanting a fixed number of holy names, singing particular songs, and offering regulated obeisances [prostrating themselves to the ground like a stick in reverence thousands of times in a day to all the Saints, Deities, and Lord’s pastime places]. Thus they fully conquered the urges of eating, sleeping, recreation, and so forth. Always considering themselves to be unlimitedly lowly and insignificant, they became enchanted in sweet rapture by remembering Shrī Rādhā-Krishna’s qualities. I worship Shrī Rūpa, Sanātana, Raghunātha Bhatta, Raghunātha dāsa, Jīva, and Gopāla Bhatta Goswāmīs.

Wandering along the banks of Rādhā-kunda or the Yamuna, and sometimes at Vamshivata, they would be forever seized by limitless transcendental states, intoxicated by the utter madness of prema. Blissfully overwhelmed, they would jubilantly sing about the exalted qualities of Shrī Hari. I worship Shrī Rūpa, Sanātana, Raghunātha Bhatta, Raghunātha dāsa, Jīva, and Gopāla Bhatta Goswāmīs..

“O Rādhā, queen of Vrindāvan a! O Lalitā! O son of Nanda Mahārāj! Where are You? Are You beneath the wish-fullfilling trees of Shrī Govardhana Hill? Or are you in the forests on the banks of the Kalindi river?” Thus calling out, greatly overwhelmed in separation, they would wander throughout the length and breadth of Vraja-mandala. I worship Shrī Rūpa, Sanātana, Raghunātha Bhatta, Raghunātha dāsa, Jīva, and Gopāla Bhatta Goswāmīs.

Bhagavad-gita, Srimad-Bhagavatam and Caitanya-caritamrta contain the essence of the nectarean mellows of love of Godhead. Who else would have explained these scriptures so clearly and beautifully?

Who else would have tolerated all difficulties, and distributed Harinama with a pleasant heart? Who would have given us the dhamas such as Mayapur, Vrindavan and Jagannatha Puri?
