“Anticipation” is a long- form composition and an ode to all those moments in life when we just don’t know what to expect. We predict and presume things in vain. It is about how we are all headed towards an impending doom (death) yet we spend our entire lives struggling to gain control over everything.  The piece is a reminder to take a step back, come back to the present moment and to let it all go…
It is an RnB Indo-Western Fusion genre, set in F major, often modulating to F minor and follows a standard 4/4 time signature. It is meant to infuse poetry, relaxation and my humble attempt at light Indian classical singing. The Hindi lyrics translate to, “The ticking clock keeps ticking, heading towards you (death), I stay here, I won’t walk towards you (denial)”.

ANTICIPATION

Pulsating is a 3.30 min contemporary classical, through composition that fuses aspects of sound composition with funk. It is meant to make the listeners feel irritable, chaotic and/or restless. The funk drumming adds an edgy, groovy element to an otherwise wild composition.

An emerging neo-classical composer, film-scorer, poetess and educator from New Delhi, India currently based in Melbourne, Australia, Sree is known for her diverse, incredibly colourful compositions encapsulating the essence of being human. Her music has been described as evocative, soothing, dreamy, and even brilliantly chaotic by her listeners. Being a person of varied interests, including but not limited to philosophy, psychology, theatre and cooking, she thinks of herself as a June of all trades and a master of none.
