This week we’ve got Mexico’s hottest disco artist and the man who was number 2 Nu-Disco DJ for Traxsource in 2021: Hotmood. 

The owner of Discoweey records, Hotmood's style reflects his production. Combining slow boogie and groove laden disco along with house and 70’s funk. Always adept at reading a crowd due to decades in the games plus a wealth of experience behind the decks. 

He’s played all over the globe including Singapore, Colombia, San Diego, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and his tracks have been supported by the likes of Simon Dunmore, Art Of Tones, Melvo Baptiste, Claptone along many more. This is one to ensure you are strapped in for!

Happy new year! This was my final gig of the year recorded at a wonderful house party somewhere near Notting Hill/Kensington. Phil and Victoria reached out a few months previous to book me for Phil’s 50th at their house and I must say… WHAT A HOUSE it was. Beautiful place, wonderful friends and family in attendance and a real party atmos. They fed and watered me all night and I met some superb people all evening. The set reflects the party vibes of the night and the dancefloor didn’t let up for a second from the get go. Hope you enjoy this session as much as I did x

Elemental Vol. 1 moves through earth, air, fire, and water not as metaphors but as emotional states. The songs drift like weather systems, mixing tenderness with atmosphere - acoustic guitars and field-warm vocals meeting the pulse of understated techno rhythms. The production is deliberately porous: wood and wire breathing alongside soft synths and spectral drum-machine traces. It's an "acoustic techno" album in the sense that rhythm and resonance share the same dirt. The songs carry the physical textures of wind in rafters, gravel underfoot, or rain on a roof, yet they shimmer with digital light. This meeting of folk intimacy and electronic timbres gives the album its peculiar gravity - part back-porch confession, part after-hours heartbeat.

Lyrically, Elemental Vol. 1 abandons conventional pop architecture. Instead of verse–chorus–bridge repetition, each piece unfolds as a field poem - free-form, continuous, and responsive to its own inner weather. The writing treats structure as tide rather than grid: refrains return when they need to, not when they're told to. This openness lets the language breathe in sync with the natural imagery that drives it - storms, light, stone, silence - and invites listeners to inhabit the songs as evolving spaces rather than predictable forms. Across the various mixes of its six song poems - We Learn the Sky, Don't Sightsee This Heart, Be a Storm in Me, Til the Heat Is Gone, You Happen Like Weather, and Wild Gifts - the album traces the cycles of intimacy and impermanence, finding in their motion the same quiet power that turns seasons, wheels, and hearts.
