classy summer vibes and since it went up the weather's been class in the Deise del Sol

Funkier Sounds celebrated its 6th birthday with an hour of tunes from me and then an hour of tunes from a DJ and producer that I’ve been into forever. My hour was the usual mix - starting things mid-tempo and funky, bringing things down a notch and then cranking things a touch with a few promo goodies before the handover.

In hour 2 I was dead chuffed to welcome none other than Fingerman. Gregg’s a bit of a legend in the game, and someone who I looked up to loads before I got into producing. Love that I’ve put out a couple of bits on his annual Hot Digits compilations (eyes on this year!), love that we hung out at Glasto a few years back, and love that he’s done a brilliant mix for my show! It’s the expected level of lushness, launching straight in after the trademark spoken intro. Gets quite full on towards the end too, but always keeping it cool, well-mixed and very Fingerman.

Hey yo! Here's my full set from my recent debut at the awesome Sunday Circles event at Muriel's in Belfast. Part of the Freebooter Lounge collective and Plan B, The Sunday Circles session is now becoming a regular hangout for heads that appreciate decent underground music and the perfect spot to chat with likeminded folks about music and life in general while listening to some beats from local talent. As I was last on I brought some funk and deep acid chuggers to the party alongside some staple favourites and a few new edits. The Black Light Disco Show bites into the bagel that is the My House Radio airwaves and blasting a beam of happiness out of your speakers to massage your ears. 

This week it’s the turn of the deadly duo of Cole Kutz and Ste Hendry Esteban (our eminent Doctors of Sonic Research currently resident in BLD Towers). And what a two hour extravaganza these fine gentlemen have lined up for your listening pleasure. 

We start the first hour in the safe company of Cole Kutz, who has a super-tasty selection of funk-filled delights from the likes of KS French, Rayko, AIMES, Kort, Soul Central and Atmosfear / Dr Packer it’s high fives and fist pumps all round. 

For hour two, Esteban takes over the reins and ups the tempo a bit with deep and housey tracks from Sam Karlson, Dave Leatherman & Bruce Nolan, Shabi, Dam Swindle, a new release from Jisco Dazz & Stephen Richards plus plenty more.
