Srividhya started learning Carnatic Music at the age of 8 under Sri Kovai Padmanabhan, Delhi. From then, her interest in this divine art grew manifold. She was then under the tutelage of Smt. Shanta Nagarajan for about two years and gave her first public performance at the age of 13 at the Delhi Tamil Sangam. Her love for this art put her in Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai for a four year music course, where she was conferred The Best Performing Student Award, for the year 2011. She has been a regular concert performer, since 2011, with the blessings of her guru, Smt. T.M.Prabhavathi, senior most disciple of Padmabhushan Dr.MLV.
She is a graded artist of All India Radio, Chennai and has performed for major carnatic music organizations like Music Academy Madras, Shanmukhananda Mumbai.
She is a Mathematics Graduate from the University of Madras. She is also a gold Medalist in Mathematics and University’s first rank Holder. She also holds a Masters’ Degree in Mathematics from Pittsburg State University, Kansas, USA. Her abstract, ‘Connections between Indian Classical Music and Mathematics’ had been selected for a presentation at the Joint Mathematics Meetings, conducted by the American Mathematical Society at San Antonio, Texas, USA during Jan 2015. Her Masters’ research project is regarding Topology in connection with Carnatic Music.
