I am a finger-style guitarist living on the Texas high plains.  At the core of my music is melody that is inspired and informed by my Christian faith, family, friends, and countless influences through the years from the great composers, to jazz, folk, rock, Latin, Celtic, and the many fine musicians I have come to love on the Cloud, some I have been privileged to collaborate with. Hope you find something you like here. I sing and play some guitar, piano, bass and drums (do not record my own drums due to lack of fitting recording environment-unfortunately). Hello. I love different kind of music and try no to stay in a comfortable style. In a song my priorities go to melody and harmony but what counts in the end is the emotional impact of the song. I do everything by myself with my DAW and i am therefore also interested by tips in mixing or on composition. I'd be glad to share advises and receive feedback and comments. Wish you all the joy and pleasure that only music can bring. 

Those who inspired me and who always have a special place in my mind for their whole creation and their wonderful melodies : Alan Parsons Project, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush. I tried some covers to remember some of their songs.

I must say that i am a bit disapointed by GenAI nowadays applied to artistic creation. I think there is already too many sounds on soundcloud that was one of the last place for 'real' artists, i mean human. This is so easy and quick to release something that it will soon overwhelm and discourage all newcomers and I really hate to be cheated by an AI when i listen to a voice. When i was young the promese about robots was to make them do what was painfull and what we dislike (hard and dangerous physical work), but never art ! And now we will soon have machine to have fun and we will keep the hard work

My name is Alexandru Ciobanu Al Rufei, and I am a Concert Pianist, Composer, Songwriter, and Ballet Piano Accompanist. As a classically trained pianist with a Bachelor in Arts/Piano Performance and over 15+ years of teaching experience, I am thrilled to share my musical journey with you.

Here’s a glimpse into my musical achievements:

	•	2001 – Third Place, International Piano Competition “PRO-PIANO-ROMANIA”

	•	1998 – First Place, National Music Olympiad
	•	1997 – First Place, International Piano Competition, Brasov, Romania; Recital, Marcelino Botin Foundation, Santander, Spain
	•	1996 – First Place, International Piano Competition, Agropoli, Italy; Awarded the Eugen Barbu Prize

Since 2002, I have performed at 4 and 5-star venues such as the J.W. Marriott, Grand Hotel Continental, Casino Palace, and many others, playing a range of genres including jazz, classical, and cafe-concerto music.

I am a pianist and composer who has studied the art of music for over 15 years. I have been lucky enough to develop my skill and passion at some of the most reputable schools, including Nakas Conservatory in Athens, Edinburgh College HNC and Newcastle University for music. I am constantly working on developing myself and my career in the music industry. The following pieces that I have composed, are soundtracks that are inspired by different genres of movies.
