Just banjoing around (fiddling with a banjo). Realizing ( again and again ) lately how much tension and strife there is globally, and how I am really working to lessen that in myself and the world. This song is rough and once again, a simple freejam idea, tossed together quickly. That's OK. Pic is back when I was 18. Thanks for dropping by.

Story :
Here is a bit of what happens when you loose someone you cherish above all.. the one who gave you inconditional love, the one who gave you life! 
I was still a young music student at this time, but it seemed youth - and all its carelessness - would never ever be.
Nothing I was able to do except... crying, and, just after one week -  when walking along the sea apart from family , trying to find interior peace and accepting - composing this!
I wrote music as I could when back in my car (always had some music paper and a pen in it) and words came instantly.
Days after I could check it on a guitar, and only one year later record it. 
Never been able to play it with bands so that you’re almost the first listeners here … more than three decades later

Some time ago I had contacted https://soundcloud.com/francescocartocci , I almost thought he had forgotten me, then he sent me a wonderful instrumental he composed, arranged, played and later mastered very skillfully. 

In the course of our conversation, I made a joke. You've already guessed it, the humour you find in my country casts its shadow. Fortunately, we were able to clear up any misunderstandings... :)

That's how this song came about (I swear it's all true...)
The photo was also taken by Francesco, by the way, and dates back to the golden age when people were still allowed to smoke in hospital.

This is the 8th track in me and @texmex-shaman Stephen's "Texas Tea" playlist! I think this one has a little bit of a different flavor to it, there is an exotic feel to the acoustic guitar that really just completes the song in my opinion. He also contributed two other guitar parts which are a bit more in the background but also really help bring the piece to life. Magic forest

One of the first people I met on this platform was the wonderful Societe Cantine. He listened with open ears and offered indepth thoughts on my music and sparked conversation and experimentation. He, himself a mind-blowing sound artist, has released a  string of albums over the last decade that still sing with originality and genre breaking optimism. We danced round the edges of collaboration for a longtime, adding little bits of sound to bigger projects or producing video. Just before COVID hit the world we finally met in Paris - I had so much talk about, as did he.. like children we struggled with face to face language; his english is good, my french is terrible : ) We decided that we should finally start collaborating in depth and this is the first piece - conceived and played with, back and forth during lockdown COVID times. Naturally enough we titled it Language Gap after our initial stumbling meeting. It got an honourary mention in the 2023 One Minute Radio Festival and through that has been played all over the world . Fardeau Losange (as he now known) and I are working now, very slowly on some sort of album - it will take forever, but its almost secondary to the friendship that has grown around the music we have listened to, written and shared on this platform.   https://societecantine.bandcamp.com/album/lopacit-des-interlignes

"Moods 'n Waves"

They say different moods come in waves, and that was something I had in mind when making this song! Also if you listen carefully, you may recognize a familiar sound or two:) 

I used two virtual instruments here: the synth lead, bass and the keyboard all come from Arturia Mini-V (emulating the ever-so-lovely classic Minimoog synthesizer), and the drum track was programmed mainly with the EG Pulse drum machine/sampler for iOS, using the 707 drum kit.

This was played using a 37-key Korg microKEY Air midi keyboard as a midi controller. Don't ask what the chords are.. I have no idea:) I just started stacking voices and chords on top of each other and this is where I landed. 

Recorded and mixed in Cubase using iZotope Neutron. Mastered with iZotope Ozone.
