This year, my journal mix arrives a little later than usual—just past the midpoint of 2025. While navigating both stimulating and exhilarating periods of creativity, this delay has given me extra time to fine-tune the tracklisting selection. 

Building on the conceptual approach of crafting a compilation that serves as a diary—one that captures the tracks that have resonated most profoundly with me, each reflecting my deep personal connection—this edition shines with outstanding new releases I listened to during 2024. In particular, the fantastic work of @SimonVuarambon and @MikeGriego deserves special mention. Opening with Matter’s “Wombat Forest”, the tone is set with cinematic tension and textured grooves. It's the kind of opener that hints at something expansive. ⛓️As we move into Nohan’s “Road to You” (Eli Nissan Remix), the mood shifts — warm, melancholic, and undeniably nostalgic. 🤍 🙌🏽Eli Nissan’s remix has been a standout since its release, often surfacing in unforgettable sets from the late 2010s. It brings back memories of sunset moments and after-hours dancefloors — a track that aged beautifully. 🖤

Hans Gerd’s “Sea Life” and Mike Rish’s “Shokl” hold down the midsection with moody, groove-driven energy. Ian Bircher’s journey through electronic music spans decades, exploring genres like melodic house, breakbeat, trance, and progressive. As a DJ, he combines elements of light and shade, balancing uplifting vocals and euphoric melodies with darker, driving beats to create sets that engage and excite.

Ian is the founder of Infinite Beats, a Nottingham-based event showcasing local talent and label artists, including MXV and Naws. His 2024 schedule includes notable performances, such as the Woodland Disco Festival, where he shares the lineup with Danny Rampling and Allister Whitehead, and Deep Underground Notts, performing alongside Steven Weston, Boxer, and Tris.
