It was created with love as inspired by the beautiful sunsets of Maui, Hawaii and my friend who encouraged me to get back into releasing Spanish guitar style instrumentals. ❤️🤙🍹 

Special thanks to my collaborators on this song including Sami Turunen and Hector Ruano. Our production process was that I played guitar and all of the instruments in a rough arrangement of the song. Then, by ear, Sami and Hector (who are way better musicians than me), they played their parts along with mine as heard on this final version of the song. We hope you like it.

✍️ DJ Derek Tate (KRUI 89.7 FM Radio) writes: Matthew Shell and company evoke the soothing sounds of tranquility on "Towards New Beginnings"...Taking about a year to complete, Shell's new album has been meticulously polished and perfected in order to represent a spectrum of emotion. 

And that attention to detail has certainly paid off. The music navigates joy, strife, desire, and satisfaction with a hypnotic ease that eggs listeners to relax and nod their heads. Here, pulses and crescendos are reminiscent of lungs slowly inhaling and exhaling, becoming more and more at ease with each breath.

Although this album was arranged before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, its themes of perseverance in the face of adversity, and the need to take a moment to breathe, make it all the more timely. With "Towards New Beginnings," Shell has created a peaceful album that is largely felt as much as it is heard, as most strongly demonstrated by the title track.

I asked Marisa if we could make a full band version of this cover with the musicians from the TNB album and Marisa loved the idea. We hope you love it, too.
