In Tbilisi, techno is a signal of change. Nowhere is this truer than Bassiani, the subterranean labyrinth where an oppressive armed police raid famously incited large-scale street protests against the government in 2018. In post-Soviet Georgia, Bassiani is a haven for the LGBTQ+ community – often heavily marginalised outside of the club’s concrete walls – as well as the young, progressive generation, who gather and dance for freedom. 

Bassiani resident Kancheli threw down a full-throttle, vinyl-only techno set to represent the club’s core sound.
