En introduksjon av Kurant9000, lyttestasjonen og besøket i Kirkenes. Hvem er de unge som utgjør Kirkenes i dag, og hva drømmer de om? Vi snakker om viktigheten av møteplasser, vi spør hva slags tomrom et queer-sted i grenseland kan fylle gjennom møter med folk som kjemper for de skeive i nord. Episodens lydverk er komponert av Palmi, basert i Gøteborg men vokst opp i Tromsø. 

Kurant9000 sender radio hver dag under Barents Spektakel fra 16.00 – 17.00 på FM 90.00. Under Barents Spektakel setter de i gang et prosjekt som skal samle inn og arkivere lyden av unge, utemte stemmer i det grenseløse Nord. Hva er lyden av oss? Under festivaluka vil publikum kunne lytte til daglige radiosendinger, live-opptredener, feltopptak og samtaler. Gjennom møter med folk, omgivelser og lyd stiller en nysgjerrig gjeng med kunstnere spørsmål omkring flytende identiteter og sin felles tilhørighet. Lyttestasjonen har også en base på Turisthotellet gjennom festivaluka.

An introduction of Kurant9000, the listening station and the visit to Kirkenes. Who are the young voices that make up Kirkenes, and what are they dreaming of? We explore what kind of void a queer place in a borderland can fill, through meetings with the people fighting for equality in the northern region. Todays sound work is composed by Palmi, based in Gothenburg grown up in Tromsø.

Kurant9000 broadcasts radio every day during the Barents Spektakel from 16.00 - 17.00 on FM 90.00. During the Barents Spectacle, they launch a project that will collect and archive the sound of young, untamed voices in the borderless North. What is the sound of us? During the festival week, the audience will be able to listen to daily radio broadcasts, live performances, field recordings and conversations. Through meetings with people, surroundings and sound, a curious group of artists ask questions about floating identities and their common belonging. The listening station also has a base at the Tourist Hotel during the festival week.

Vera Dvale's debut solo album on own imprint is funneling in composition and sonics. Introducing and rounding off with field recordings, from East Norway's countryside and the Pacific coast of Chile, it's in the same manner as 70's psychoacoustic recordings creating "sonic silence" if played at right volume. Title track is an exceeding travel of overtones and presence played on the church organ of Sørfinnset Chapel in North of Norway, feverish and beautiful. The bass rich and synthetically warm "Dove Organ" is outernationally spacious and time consuming, with recordings of ancient melting ice from Spitsbergen. As made for, and by, time & sound.
