This is my remix of Michael Medrano's Do Your Thing. I was inspired by a ton of stuff in this track. The chords are based out of David Foster's Cheryl Lynn track Got To Be Real. The synths are heavily inspired by Aeroplane's remix of Friendly Fires' Paris. It's a fun a track and I hope you all enjoy it!

Exceptionally talented keyboardist, DJ and producer Moon Boots (Peter Dougherty) has revealed his third studio album ‘Ride Away’. The ten-track LP will land on March 17th on Anjunadeep. The first single, ‘Hot Minute’ featuring Black Gatsby, is out today.

Written and produced over a nearly two-year period beginning in early 2021, ‘Ride Away’ contains themes of love, companionship, and personal exploration. Hauling in a crate’s worth of musical influences, Moon Boots has imbued ‘Ride Away’ with his characteristic blend of soul, disco, and house music, whilst also introducing the sounds of synthpop, breakbeats, and psychedelica. Marrying these eclectic styles is part and parcel of Moon Boots’ idiosyncratic sensibility, honed through years of living and DJing in Chicago, the birthplace of house music, and in the musical melting pot of Brooklyn.

‘Hot Minute’ is the first single and features the vocals of longtime collaborator Black Gatsby. With a sassy chorus that echoes Anderson .Paak and Sylvester with a gospel-inflected breakdown, ‘Hot Minute’ shows off the full range of Black Gatsby’s talents and his unique musical rapport with Moon Boots. This bop is a tantalising taste of what Dougherty has been up to in the studio.

‘Hot Minute’ follows the recent release of ‘Come Back Around’ which featured indie darling Cherry Glazerr. The summer anthem was named ‘Coldest Record’ on BBC Radio 1 and supported by the likes of KCRW, Triple J, and SiriusXM.

Featuring a swathe of colourful vocalists including the likes of Cherry Glazerr, Dope Earth Alien, and Nic Hanson, ‘Ride Away’ celebrates Dougherty’s longstanding affinity for collaboration, fun effervescent songwriting, and dance-focused production. Other international artists on the album include French singer Praa and Norwegian band Ora The Molecule, whilst longtime collaborators Ross Clark (St. Lucia) and Steven Klavier feature as writers and instrumentalists on the record, rounding out a global ensemble of incredible talent.

Having accrued well over 100 million streams on Spotify alone, and having been championed by the likes of Annie Mac, Diplo, Danny Howard, and The Blessed Madonna, Moon Boots has established himself as a trailblazer of R&B-infused dance music. Having released on legendary French house label French Express, and remixed the likes of Dua Lipa, Robyn, and Nile Rodgers, Dougherty’s production prowess is in high demand, whilst his eclectic DJ sets and live shows (including a full live band) have seen him tour the world, with recent headline shows sold out across North America and Australia, and a full live tour expected in 2023 to celebrate the release of Ride Away.

Moon Boots (Pete Dougherty) has reconnected with longtime collaborator Nic Hanson on exciting new single ‘Take Me To Your Body’.

A bright, seductive house jam with echoes of the Neptunes and New Jack Swing", ’Take Me To Your Body’ is reminiscent of balearic styles in its warm chords and airy staccato synths. Playful and fun, the track is accompanied by Hanson's pitch-perfect delivery, singing flirtatious lyrics like "All I want is to feel / The kind of loving that's for real / So baby let me whisper in your ear”. 

The track follows recent singles ‘Hot Minute’ featuring Black Gatsby and ‘Come Back Around’ featuring Cherry Glazerr, both of which saw extensive support on KCRW, with the latter named ‘Coldest Record’ on BBC Radio 1 and supported by the likes of Triple J, and SiriusXM. All three tracks will feature on Moon Boots’ forthcoming third studio album ‘Ride Away’, out March 17th 2023, which is available for vinyl pre-order now.

A Brooklyn native, Dougherty became obsessed with electronic music during his teenage years. Following a childhood spent learning piano, he soon discovered synthesisers, hip-hop and the underground techno scene. Shortly after leaving Princeton University, he relocated to Chicago, where he DJ'd, worked on original music, and played in a touring synth-pop trio. Whilst performing and absorbing new sounds, he was also at work on original tracks, blending the influences of French house, jazz, minimalism, soul and other discoveries.

Originally from Philadelphia, Nic Hanson is a 27-year-old singer, songwriter, rapper and multi-instrumentalist now living in London. A hugely talented charismatic who has developed an international following on Instagram and TikTok by singing in dozens of languages, Hanson is no stranger to working with Moon Boots, having has previously collaborated on ‘Keep The Faith’ and ‘Clear’, tracks that have racked up over 18 million combined Spotify streams.

His third scintillating single release in quick succession, Moon Boots’ ‘Take Me To Your Body’ is certain to be a staple in his as his multiple upcoming DJ sets at iconic venues likes the Hollywood Palladium, Elsewhere NYC, and Printworks London, and his live album tour to be announced next year.
