This was my first piece written using only Csound for Android. There are 3 sections - The Announcement, The Arrival and The Aftermath. It's deliberately gritty, particularly the second section, on purpose. The reverb effects in the middle section, pumping at the beginning and drifting away at the end, are quite deliberate, part of the story.

It uses a combination of granular, additive and subtractive synthesis.

Parade Of The Fire Ants 2 - Csound (3 movements, see song description)

Generative (aleatoric, algorithmic... you choose) atonal experiment in Csound - sounds different each time it's rendered. Essentially one single instrument (3 if you include trigger and reverb instr). The only oscillator used is a single note flute sample. 

Once again Csound shines in it's ability to create generative music aa well as it's powerful, flexible and highly customizable synthesis abilities.

Custom wavetable instrument. It can use any number of wave files & interpolate between any two frames (single-cycle waveforms), linearly or completely randomly, while also automating the weighted average between them. This example uses 44 waveforms.

As always I'm impressed with the power & versatility of Csound - if you can imagine it, Csound makes it possible.

...on the edge, this algorithmic piece attempts to balance between ambient music and something that could fall dangerously out of control at any moment.

Created in Csound for Android using a single wavetable instrument that utilizes 100 waveforms &  a crude but fairly effective spectral delay. Completely written using only text on a Samsung phone.

Examples of a few custom wavetables. They are created algorithmically within Csound. The first section features harmonic & inharmonic partial wavetables, the second uses a single wavetable derived from noise (random numbers). With both sections there are no filters used or any modifications except some reverb - it's straight wavetable playback. There is slow random modulation of the fundamental pitch on some of the noise table notes, via the instr, but all other amp/freq mod that can be heard are inherently generated by the tables.

Another custom wavetable created with random lengths of exponential/logarithmic segments. 64 tables/frames, 2048 samples. However the UDO can create a wavetable of any user-defined number of tables & samples (table size). Generally the table size should be a power of two as some random tables are created with a little FFT modification. There are no filters used or any other modifications (no AM, PM, PWM or effects) except added reverb. This example is a single sustained note.

Custom wavetable example 2 (drone; see description)

A single (and very long) drone note, slowly morphing thru a wavetable created algorithmically in Csound using random values. No filters or effects except reverb. There is modulation of the fundamental freq on the left channel to add movement & some stereo widening. This is not intended as a "piece", only as an example of the wavetable.

Custom wavetable example 3 (one note drone; see description)

Created to honour International Drone Day. https://droneday.org/ One note drone (two notes added at the end), uses an algorithimically created 64 frame wavetable created and played in Csound for Android. No extra processing was used except reverb. Not so much a musical piece as a demonstration.
