Sounds of the Sumatran Rainforest recorded via real-time, remote, cloud-based audio sensors and remixed by https://soundcloud.com/TZUSING, Shanghai and Taiwan based electronic music producer, into a ‘Jungle Sonics’ soundtrack.

The BIO/VERSE is a four-season collaborative project between PUMA and P.A.M. The collections all use a minimum of 20% recycled materials, and are paired with inspiring environmental impact projects built by DEEP. For it’s second season the BIO/VERSE has funded a network of audio sensors in the buffer-zones of the Gunung Leuser National Park (Indonesia). Live transmissions from this network help local and global scientific communities by assisting research projects, habitat management efforts and by combating illegal activity, like logging and poaching. For this season’s campaign, Thai-Swedish rap legend Thaiboy Digital and his paramour, Cartoon, venture to North Sumatra, witnessing first hand the important work of the Sumatran Ranger Project and Rainforest Connection.

Long-time friend of the label Plesk Parallel makes her way to All Centre to release a sublime double tracker. On Spit Fountain, Plesk Parallel revitalizes her sound with a pair of transcendent, explorative club tracks.

Spit Fountain opens as a CR-78 drum machine workout heavily manipulated by masterful sound design. Drum clicks reverberate across a cavernous space charted by booming sub-low kicks. A disorienting melody enters the fray in the latter half of the track, reminiscent of AFX b-sides and microtonal experiments.

Morpho shifts into a more mechanical, to-the-grid groove with rigid kick drums and earworm percussion. Drawing on 90s & 00s broken techno, Plesk Parallel puts her own spin on these conventions, augmenting the style with perfected sound design, hypnotic pads and a heavy, dubbed-out bassline.

The 40th release of katharsis is the EP “Life is Hard” by Malle Voss coming out on April 10th. Following up on his debut release “Death is Easy” on Blue Tapes from 2022, the artist expands his musical pilgrimage into pure and spiritual affection in chaotic and dark territory. By using emotion in a structural way, the 6 tracks portray deep truths of overcoming struggle and turning nonsense into meaning. The tracks work like dark botanical angel artifacts, each with its rituals and prayers of death motivation and enlightenment through hardship. The range of sentiments covers everything from both beauty and joy to aggression and ecstasy, in its messy-by-design style of maximalist minimalism.

Leevisa, a DJ, musician, and producer hailing from Seoul, now calls Toronto home. In the midst of overcoming the challenges of relocating and breaking through enduring cultural barriers, all while seeking happiness and nurturing her artistic spirit. Leevisa's musical direction diverges from club-centric tracks, as she delves into a quest for deeper expression, blending the sentimental value of her past with the newfound freedoms she experiences living in Canada.  In 2022, her EP Koreography (via Perpetual Care) captivated listeners and selectors, resonating on Tom Ravencroft’s 'musical journey around the world' and 'New Music Fix' on BBC Radio. It garnered support from Nikki Nair, Posh Isolation, along with commendable reviews and features from MixMag, DJ Mag, Ransom Note, Resident Advisor, The  Wire, and Visla Magazine.
While venturing outside her comfort zone, she enters into the world of film by composing the soundtrack for the South Korean full-length feature "The Other Child." (Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival/Far East Film Festival) Along with contributions for an exclusive mix for Apple Music (Cakeshop), crafting a remix for PZWorld Book published by IDEA.   Recognized by i-D magazine as one of rising female musicians in Seoul's underground scene, Leevisa merged into the world of art and fashion. Her portfolio includes performances for the distinguished fashion brand Hyein Seo and presenting an audio visual composition for Gucci’s curated exhibition “No Space, Just a Place” at the Daelim Museum in Korea.  Her performances include events like CTM, Unsound, Elsewhere, Rap Rave and the renowned Seoul club Cakeshop, sharing the decks with artists like Coucou Chloe, Vegyn, Juliana Huxtable, Kode9, Laurel Halo, and Kamixlo. Beyond her performances, Leevisa left her mark on the airwaves, delivering memorable mixes for NTS Radio, Balamii, and Seoul Community Radio.
