Opening track Lonely Highway shows off Tough Love’s big bumpy bass line’s that they're fast becoming known for. Its powerful 4x4 kick is backed up perfectly with skipping percussion guaranteed to keep the dance floor moving, while the classic throwback vocal provides nostalgic millennium memories, enticing the listener to sing along. A certified club banger!

Sweet memories is just that, a track for yesteryear. Tough Loves signature big bumping bass is perfectly balanced with soulful classic vocals. The track playfully teases from the very start, warm soulful pads, strings & keys eventually bring the track to its climax through the introduction of uplifting melodic chord stabs & cleverly arranged percussion. A sure favorite for nu disco & house lovers.

Love & Happiness provides a much deeper insight into Tough Loves musical production style. Its beautiful signature vocal is met with a rip roaring bass typified by their grand garage-esq drums. Are You Blind completes this quartet of musical mayhem. Big & bold just like what we expect from the Tough Love duo. This track offers a deeper twist than previous tracks on the album, with its reminiscent verses, chopped vocal and cleverly amended hook line. Constant moving percussion & powerful organ leads prepares “Are You Blind” for any battle on the dance floor.

Curtis Gabriel is a producer/DJ from Sheffield. 

Having produced music for over 10 years, Curtis Gabriel was born in 2013 inspired by the resurgence of the old US House and Garage scene of the 90s. 

Taking his influences from the early pioneers of House and listening to drumming greats like Bernard Purdie and Clyde Stubblefield, Curtis Gabriel set about combining the sounds and the grooves from these classics whilst placing melody front and centre of his tracks to mark out his own style. ‘Listen’ and ‘Breakwater’ mark him out as a producer who’s honed his craft. Two taught, tense deep house tracks aimed squarely at getting feet on the dancefloor.

Building on a strong following on Soundcloud, where his track ‘True’ has notched up over 75k plays, he’s recently completed a mix for London Radio Station Reprazent 107.3 and will be announcing more gigs soon.

Listen/Breakwater is his debut release for Glyph Recordings.

Stephen was previously known for co-owning the Record Label 'Inward Records' releasing music from incredible artists such as: The Soul Brothers, Double Touch, Raw Main, Timboletti, Sparrow & Barbossa, Pippi Ciez & many more. Including loving support from popular electronic music channels such as trdmsk, electronic groove, sweet music, closing sounds.

Back in Stephen's early 20's he was known globally for his artist project 'Steve Fryer', where he was signed to Blacksoul Music, featuring on Hed Kandi Albums & BBC Introducing. Notoriously known for his innovative productions, track selection and hardworking creativeness behind the decks, as he firmly established himself as a global success, making chart topping hit's week in week out. Pioneering a unique twist within the Deep House music boom between 2011-2014. Owning Birmingham’s award winning event night ‘K/SS’ (Keep It Sexy & Sophisticated) on a weekly basis. DJ’ing internationally in 14+ cities worldwide, collating over 1 million+ streams along his journey. 

As time passed by Stephen found him-self fighting between a promising career at Jaguar Land Rover and a promising career as a music artist. In mid 2015 after maturing as an artist, Stephen found himself being disconnected with his 'Steve Fryer' music project he had originally created. Amongst that emotion and his external environmental influences, Stephen had put his music production career aside to focus on his journey as an Electrical Engineer. 

Even though Stephen had put his music productions on hold, whilst exploring a new signature sound, he still fronted his event nights in Birmingham, playing an array of music from Funk. Indie, Disco & Vocal House. Along with launching a record label alongside co-founder Pippi Ciez.

Stephen was brought up surrounding a variety of eclectic sounds. Funk, Soul, 70’s, 80’s, R&B, Indie, and Electro House were always blasting upon his iPod or Stereo Speaker. His love for music could even be expressed by the cassettes he used to record each and every Sunday for hours upon end as a child, waiting for each individual track to start and stop as he presses the record button on and off, trying to not capture the radio hosts voice.

By day/night, Stephen is a serial entrepreneur, owning a Property Management Company, Marketing Consultancy & Business Mentorship Program. By night/day, he likes to let loose, dance around, and meet likeminded creative souls <3

As the COVID-19 pandemic strikes, and external distractions dissipated, Stephen has reconnected with his love for mixing music, finally being able to display a signature sound he had grown extremely close to over the past 5 years, turning his consumer habits into an influencer of a beautiful organic healing sounds, providing respect and gratitude to the artists who has influenced him over time.
