With this soundtrack I wanted to create a certain atmosphere. Something calm and beautiful, to offer some brief respite and escape.
For me, ambient is speaking with an emotive sensitivity, there is a certain self-awareness that permeates. It is about listening to the call within to be free and pure.
Like nature and art does, it gives life to our inner thoughts and visions as long as the mind is set with a great openness, a strong perseverance and a natural curiosity to experiment.

With the recording I'd like to reflect a hot summer day in Bohan, along the banks of the Semois, where as a child, the abundance and the boundless mystery of the nature around me shaped my sense of experiencing sounds and listening to music as I do today, without being aware in the moment itself.
We don’t just receive our surroundings passively. We are actively creating them.
So disconnect, zone out and enjoy my little intens journey..

The mix was recorded in one-take without editing on a sunday evening in Ghent.

For the 22nd edition of the W&F mix series, @fanafellahin has contributed a mix that moves beyond the confines of the US electronic music scene. FANA’ is a nonbinary multimedia artist, DJ, and producer from NYC based in the Midwest and affiliated with In Training. Their art and music focuses on their mixed Kurdish heritage, and liberation throughout Kurdistan as well as Palestine and various places in the Middle East/North Africa. This mix is a showcase of Persian experimental electronic music; dedicated to those who have lost their lives in the recent months of protest in Iran.

Category 4 is a monthly broadcast concept from Michael Brunner [ @four4 ] for Great Circles Radio.

There's a very sensitive part in me who sometimes just feels way too much but doesn't even know it at the time. I need so much distance to actually understand what's going on inside of me, but when I'm listening or playing music it kind of catalyzed this whole thing.
