New edition published by Le Petit Mignon featuring yet another unexpected tripolar collaboration between remarkable artists: Stefano Iannone as his vampire personified project Spettro Family, French nomad-musician Pavel Viry under his moniker Klaus Legal and Polish painter Gosia Bartosik.

Keen on long nocturnal walks in the forest, Spettro Family certainly unveiled over these three pieces a liking for the interplay between lights and shadows, plunging layers of synthesizer tinted with break beats sometimes into a languishing obscurity, sometimes into the moonlight's blurry glare. The Italian composer blends this vintage cocktail of psychotropic plants and amber bourbon with cinephilic references and winks to his native Mediterranean province's sun, the blinding rays of a dense and sharp post-industrial space disco. Since 2008 and his appearance in the world of the living, Spettro Family has performed and toured in Europe and the US. He has also published several releases on his own imprint Vade Retro, as well as a handful of established underground labels such as, Reue Um Reue (Germany), Black Horizons (US) or TimeSlave Recordings (UK).

Klaus legal, is the coffee-addict migratory bird of the French experimental scene. Tirelessly, he strides across the roads of the entire world to spread his stream of electric energy, nourishing himself from his itinerant experiences to enrich his music with new influences. Among his most recent publications you may have to look towards electro-acoustic and post-industrial music, the two older pieces documented here splatter the slopes of both the early years of the industrial music and post-punk, wisely playing bit by bit with the clichés of both genres. Combining them with 90's electro-like beats, texts surfing on the wave of nightmarish lamentations and gaga vociferation in a copiously noisy and spasmodic electronic maelstrom. "The meal is composed of two Public Enemy meets Suicide like songs on a dadaist mood." (sic). Also purveyor of electronic or instrumental sonorities in various projects such as La Race, Judas Donneger, Dalida, and in the past, Death To Pigs. Pavel's discography stretches on a large fistful of labels, to name just a few, Gaffer Records, 213 Records, Et Mon Cul C'est Du Tofu?, and many more...

Gosia Bartosik is a Polish artist, graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Poznań, whose practice oscillates between painting, linocut, underground and activist street art and tattoo. Her work has been presented within the framework of solo and group exhibitions, recently on the walls of Le Petit Mignon's parent house, the gallery-shop Staalplaat in Berlin. Gosia's oeuvre flirts with both abstraction and illustration, often blowing away the boundaries between the human and the animal worlds, as portrayed in this new publication's booklet and cards, where a horde of awake hieroglyphs and sweet beasts swarm in a cathartic and grizzled microcosm.

"Those not familiar with Jones’ style, will listen slack-jawed at the shear anticipatory nature of his sound collage. The five lengthy tracks are based on hypnotic and somewhat menacing grooves: a repetitive dub bass beat, waves of Middle Eastern strings and voices, layers of building hand percussion. Each track is respective but the washes of sound/percussion come and go often creating a sense of motion and change. All of the tracks are similar and even share elements. Mid-East tension is so accurately captured through the use of the regions instrumentation (especially percussion), sinister electronics, samples of men chanting, women crying, sounds culled from the horrors of war, and occasional angry distortion that the listener’s listener will be transported to the belly of the beast.
‘Mullah Said’ displays two aspects of the work of Muslimgauze. Firstly, musically, it is in the delightful drifting ambient vein. The percussion is mainly acoustic hand drums - providing a rhythm of aural features - the trademark shimmering string sound heard on a number of releases is much in evidence, rhythms are generally slower, there are lots of samples of people speaking in conversation, markets wherever. ‘Mullah said’ opens the disc with the lovely mix of these sounds. ‘Every grain of Palestine sand’ continues the mood, with a slightly faster tempo, and more emphasis on the beat. But it soon locks into a mesmeric lassitude as various effects echo or smear the sounds, drums come in for short moments, different string sounds enjoin the play. ‘Muslims die India’ follows the mood though the voices seem darker, sadder, and then comes ‘Every grain of Palestinian sand’ followed by ‘Muslims die India’. Yes - not a typo, these tracks are repeated. Muslimgauze trend - to remix himself.  Prime Muslimgauze middle eastern ambience - if you like that side you will love this album. The final track is short and different, a crackling ground over which a singer chants a song interrupted by machine-gun percussive bursts - ‘An end’."

"Radioscapes is a record that invites the listener to discover the electromagnetic landscapes that surround us.

The two sides of the vinyl propose to listen and to observe two very different radio contexts: the Paris ring road (Side A) and an isolated farm in the French countryside (Side B). In each location, the whole radio spectrum was methodically recorded during a period of two weeks and then transcribed into a single audio track. On each side, an image representing the levels of the received frequencies is printed under the groove in synchronization with the sound.

Radioscapes is an exploration of existing artificial and natural signals. As the record rotates, the frequencies follow one another, as on a radio where the button would be slowly turned: one successively travels across Wi-Fi waves, mobile phones, hydrogen lines observed in astronomy, satellites exchanges, military and aeronautical communications, FM and AM radios, and thunderstorm interferences …

The record is accompanied by a silk-screened booklet that brings together a text by astrophysicist Eric Chassefière detailing the physical properties of radio waves and their implementation in radio astronomy and the protocol used to carry out the recording of waves."

Nicolas Montgermont explores the physicality of waves in different forms. He is interested in the reality of waves in space, the way they move and change, the links between a source and our perception, by designing setups that create a sensitive exploration of their poetic essence. He works with sound waves mainly through the vibration of materials and their propagation, natural and artificial electromagnetic waves in the form of radio landscapes, gravitational and sidereal energies through the double prism astronomy / astrology.

He creates installations, often in collaboration with Cécile Beau and formerly in the Art of Failure collective, in which time is of particular importance and allows an intimate appropriation of these materials and energies, he is also active in the audiovisual performance field with chdh and in the experimental music with BCK and Yi King Operators. He has published several editions on Art Kill Art. His projects are shown in many centers in Europe and elsewhere (Club Transmediale, Elektra, MusikProtokoll, Fondation Vasarely, Palais de Tokyo, WRO, iMAL, PixelACHE, …).

Limited edition of 500 vinyl LPs housed in hand-printed, laser-cut and sewed 1mm thick cardboard covers. All produced and assembled by hand in a pure DIY spirit, and for this reason: NO CLAIM will be accepted due to an "imperfect" cover.

"Separated from both its reputation and its sleeve art, the music of Muslimgauze explores the relationship of visual sensations - space, colour, depth, illusion - to the listening experience. The music on 'Maroon' is dub-like inspired techno music, laid back with voices appearing randomly in the mix. The thick drums and rich found sounds that densely populate the soundscapes on "Maroon" give materiality to the warm presence of the synth washes. The music is so layered and textured that it ceases to be aural and exists almost solely in the realm of sight and touch.
Devoid of reference to any external reality, Muslimgauze's Ambience gets remoulded by subjective experience and moved around in the memory. By shifting the quality of perception with the producer's sleight of hand, Bryn Jones (the Mancunian behind Muslimgauze) makes explicit the interiority of the senses. Thus, the fact that our inner life determines our relationship to the world outside becomes the music's unspoken subject.
Divorcing Muslimgauze's music from its image is like listening to Take That without seeing Robbie's pelvis or Mark's pouting. This is precisely why the music is so effective.
Relocating music's power within the listener instead of as an external force acting upon the listener forces reappraisal and reinterpretation. The muezzin's wailing call to prayer and the shrieks of women mourning the dead conjure up images of a fierce 'death-to-the-infidels' fervour in the Western imagination, and are recast as holy prayers for the ultimate, womb-like peace that most Ambient music aims to express. The usually easy exoticism of sampled tablas and ouds instead hint at the dread on the road to the water coloured bliss of run-of-the-mill Ambient and force the listener to internalise difference and confront the received images of Islam that Muslimgauze detour by such strong powers of suggestion."

"Those not familiar with Jones’ style, will listen slack-jawed at the shear anticipatory nature of his sound collage. Initially released by Staalplaat in 1999 (the same year of his passing away) as part of the ‘Box Of Silk And Dogs’ comes out again as a double LP. He was a cult artist, politically motivated for the arab-palestinian cause and a seminal experimenter of the ethnical samples’ use with minimal and electronic rhythms. The atmospheres retain intact the original charm made out of full and gloomy, but pulsating in the provoked emotions, very different from the exotic and ornamental processing of certain world music. Drum machines, old synths, percussion, all combined in a traditional way, without any computer help. Sounds anyway already permeated with what will have come, drawing on different genres but always supporting a specific poetic. “Peace is a distant dream” Bryn Jones said, in one of his latest interviews. He died for a rare blood disease, and on both sizes things seem to unfortunately still be the same.
Ingaza is thematically and stylistically all over the place, sporting atmospheric instrumental loops one moment and jarring, heavily barbed and distorted beats the next. Differences between tracks, not unlike changing channels on TV or switching between net browsers, predominate, imagery conjuring Middle Eastern travel and tourism on one screen plays against grisly proxy war footage on the next. The only threads linking these tracks were made during Jones' grittier production-cum-dub days during the last years of his life.
