For our penultimate release of 2021 we welcome aboard a mainstay of the Indian house music scene, @BlurrySlur. The Mumbai-based DJ and producer serves up a slick three-track EP of rolling house music laced with squelchy chords, pumping basslines, and infectious percussive rhythms. The release is rounded off by remixes from label resident @nigelpereralk and talented UK-based producer @funkytino.

Naples-based newcomer DJ Dep provides the latest installment for Stacey Pullen’s Blackflag Recordings, with this irresistibly quirky EP that ticks all the right boxes and then some. Dense, barnstorming techno beats? Check. Epic crowd cheers? Check. Barnyard animals? Errr… check. For those who like their music a bit different, ‘Hummor’ is a cheeky number that breaths fresh air in a scene that can often be dogged by formulaic uniformity.

On the remix, Neverdogs take ‘Hummor’ subterranean with a deep dark excursion through the proverbial 6am dancefloor. Deep, dark, driving basslines are the order of the day, with brain-melting sonic artifacts scattered plentifully over an alluring tech-house groove.  

Rounding off on a high, DJ Dep brings the pulse back up again with ‘Strike In The School’, another meticulously programmed latticework of drums, bass, and unadulterated dancefloor decadence. Channeling everything from vintage gangster flicks to Homer Simpson, it’s impossible to sit through this without raising a smile at the very least.

A moody bass led and a sparse vibe meets some dubby tones and classic pads, all merge wonderfully for some late night action.Heading in a darker direction and getting tougher, we find 'Suburban Grooves'. Techier tinges and a wonky feel adds mystique to this mind worker for those deeper dancefloors.To close, we are treated to 'The Long Road'. A spacious and squelchy affair, whispered vocals and dubby moments al gel superbly. deep and deadly.
