Today is Lindsey Herbert’s (@lindseyherbert) birthday, and to celebrate she has shared a new mix with us. It’s been two months since we celebrated the new year with her, so we are happy to be able to experience her intense energy and rhythms once again. 

Originally from the US, Lindsey Herbert is a DJ and producer who stands out for her ability to explore the deeper realms of techno with psychedelic elements and heavy sonic textures. She is quite involved in the scene in San Francisco, but lately we have seen her all across the map in Europe and the US.

A rising name in Berlin’s ever crowded pool of talents, Eerste Communie resident Windfuhr has been developing his own idiosyncratic persona at the junction of heavy-traction 4x4 rhythms and deep, hypnotic folds of intricate melodies and exotica-laced electronics. Minimal in essence but maximal in effect, his compositions bridge the gap between stripped-back functionality and dreamy escapology, neatly coordinating the throbbing cavalcade of racy uptempo machine funk with layered, modular-like transmissions as his feverish drum programming leads the charge. No doubt Windfuhr’s name is one you’ll hear a lot more in 2024.

In 2022, Rudiment label released "Life Will Win Over Death," a collective statement against the war in Ukraine. 

It featured notable techno artists such as Dasha Rush, Surgeon, Dimi Angelis, Stanislav Tolkachev, SpeedyJ, Jeroen Search, and more talented musicians. 

In 2023, we're proud to present our next anti-war compilation "HI", featuring a stellar lineup of artists: Oscar Mulero, Blawan, Jonas Kopp, Mike Parker, Sleeparchive, D-Leria, Developer, Conceptual, Steve Bicknell, Yan Cook, Ben Pest, Zadig among others. This release, distributed by Triple Vision in April 2024, will be available in all major online stores. All proceeds from sales of the compilation will directly support the Hospitallers Medical Battalion, a volunteer organization of paramedics working on the frontline in Ukraine.

Hailing from Potsdam, Germany, we welcome Rill for Podcast #247. The DJ/producer is co-head of the Berlin-based techno label MITSU2000 and @syntop_kollektiv .

With a sound deeply rooted in early 2010s techno, Rill has quickly become a standout figure thanks to his sharp track selection and highly praised productions. With a recent feature on Rødhåd’s fabric mix and a strong discography of his own, he’s shaped a distinct style of brain-melting machine wares paired with precise use of synths and FX. Proper timeless, functional techno that just works.

On #247, he nods to the stripped-back, raw energy of the early 2010s. A delicate balance between synthetic textures and mechanical drive.

Staffan Linzatti debuted on Field Records in 2015 with his 'Who Knows Where To Go' EP. In the spring of 2017 the Swedish producer is back with a well balanced spaced-out techno triple pack on the ever evolving Amsterdam imprint.

Ever since 'The Event' we knew that our reality was becoming more hostile towards our presence in it. The very fabric of it was changing, and we would either have to change with it, or change our reality. A program called 'The Dispatch' was created as a means to preserve human existence through an infinite number of simulated universes. A simulation in which each universe would serve as a world for future humans. A world indistinguishable from the 'real thing'.

As we write this, 'The Dispatch' - your future as humans - is being coded and compiled. During execution, our existence will end - and your new world will replace ours. Our story, our memories will live on in your reality. Our creation, embedded deep within the 'The Dispatch', will be a brave tale of perhaps our greatest achievement - if not our very last.

Grounded podcast number 90 welcomes spanish DJ, 'LoKKoTRONN' who has been residing in New York City since the early 2000's. During his time there he struck up a bond with Jason T, who make up the dynamic 'Dos Lokos' duo. 

Together in 2011, they established the acclaimed Erratic emblem, curating exclusive techno events and running their own podcast series which has seen plenty of our favourite artists appear as guests over the 150+ episodes that have spanned across the last 6 years. 

Since its inception, Nico has been constantly refining and expanding his techno palette rendering the genre inextricable from his way of life and sensibility towards the arts and electronic music as a whole. His style when behind the decks can be characterised as a blend between melodic, acid bass lines layered with poignant, driving rhythms that penetrate equally the mind as they do the body. This mix is titled 'Medulla Oblongata'.
