Ulterior Motives inaugurate their Black Label series with a fresh cut from DJ Persuasion, paired with a mind-bending remix from the mighty Digital (Function Records).

Inspired by one of the best-loved horror movies of all time, Danny ‘25 picks up where countless other hardcore renditions which sample the horror genre have left off. The lore surrounding the film which the track is based on is something of a maze in itself. Persuasion digs deep into the legacy of the film and its offshoots to provide a fitting tribute set to bulldozer bass and lightning drums.

Function Records’ owner Digital provides the remix on the flip. Digital should need no introduction — he’s been behind some of the best-loved drum & bass tracks of all time: tunes like Deadline, Down Under, and Phantom Force alongside Duncan Busto aka Spirit, who sadly passed away.
Digital rolls it out in his time-honoured fashion and takes the levels of fear and dancefloor destruction up a notch.

We expected immense things from this label in 2012 and Far Too Close // Distantia doesn’t disappoint. The A side delivers Far Too Close, a profound, techy roller with psychedelic snares and skintight production. Heading up the B side Mefjus provides us with Distantia. Its introduction is layered skin deep with atmospheric synths, which drops into perfectly unconventional funk.

After releasing 'The Truth' in 2013 on Drum & Bass on Demand 2 and the 'Control EP' in 2014 it's our pleasure to have one of the finest trios in Drum & Bass return to Demand in 2018. The Belgian outfit has always been drawn to the deeper and darker side of Drum & Bass and this latest single is no different. 'The Sewers' is a minimalistic horror driven, half step nodder that kicks your gut, while 'Backlash's bassline is pounding through the rolling breaks like a car drive at 200 km/h. Nobody else quiet does it like them and they're doing it with style. An intensive ride we have greatly missed in our catalogue lately. Welcome back guys!
