Way back when I first started my Patreon in 2019 I had a work in progress remix of Styles & Breeze's "You're Shining" that I posted. The remix never ended up getting done because it never meet the quality I wanted for it. "You're Shining" is one of my all time favorite hardcore tracks, so I really wanted the remix to meet a high quality standard. That old remix never meet that standard, so I stopped working on it.

Fast forward to a few months back, there was a remix challenge on Rhythmics' Discord server to make a quick, for fun remix of "You're Shining". I decided to set aside a couple of hours to give it a go and that I was going to emulate the 2007 to 2012 185 kick drum era hardcore. Immediately I liked what I had come up with and it was way better than the remix I had in 2019. After the challenge was over, I extended the remix I had made to a full song, I had finally made a remix of "You're Shining" that I consider worthy of releasing.

It's the collab you've all been waiting for..saved especially for our milestone 70th EP release! Conceived in lockdown but released for the masses to enjoy, it's A.B vs Digital Commandos with the epic journey that is 'Science Of Sound'. This is freeform at its fullest -  so don't dive in unprepared - as psy beats, eastern vocals, acid lines aplenty, crazy fills, DnB sections, operatic breakdowns, massive riffs, electric guitars, MC vocals, science lesson samples and MORE (phew) all collide to explode in one jam-packed creative unleashing of two freeform forces. With such a monster track to compete against on the Yang side, we dialled overseas and pulled in a big gun special rework from the one like SYNTHWULF. The first full non 4x4 track to feature on Stamina, the 'Wulf has delivered his filthiest neurostyle re-licking and it does not disappoint. Bass levels off the charts. So there it is, Stamina Records release number SEVENTY (!) as we continue to campaign for freeform beats for the masses...

Label boss A.B makes a welcome return alongside new talent Lone Raver, with the pair following up on their previous Stamina smash 'Faster Than Light Speed' / 'Never Too Late (Wake Me Up)'. Similarly themed on the Yin Yang front, the duo set alight the A-side with trance euphoria galore in the breakdown, but this time sandwiched between much electronic experimental dance floor madness! Tribal beats, laser synths, groovy bass... it's a fiesta of all freeform can be, pairing the ultra uplifting with a dose of heavy hitting hardcore. Quite literally as the title suggest, 'Heaven & Earth', in one track! Flipping it over and the boys return to big kick territory as 'So Good' takes you to the underground; 909 drums, frenetic synths, and acid madness all lead to a trip in a time-machine breakdown as a distinctly old skool theme takes charge! Think bouncy pianos, breakbeats and big kicks and you know it's a rollercoaster ride wrapped up in one track. Our 73rd offering definitely packs it all in! The Rookie returns with his trademark style - pure rolling energetic techy freeform all the way - wrapped up in one monster EP! Kicking the proceedings off is 'Mindless', an absolute underground club roller peppered with Q&A fx and synth noises, percussive and punishing bass stabs, grimy leads and a killer vocal hook. One hell of a massive riff and breakdown bombs the whole tune back into the realms of freeform euphoria as it kicks off with a pure trance energy. If you like your 'form on the hard NRG side with lashings of tech influence, this one is for you. Flipping it up n' over for 'Take Me' and the energy levels remain high but the groove switches things up and nods directly to freeform's close association with hard dance. The Digital Commandos have made a welcome home for themselves on Stamina, becoming an integral part of the fabric of the label thanks to a slew of consistently quality releases, all featuring their ultra-distinguishable sonic palette of classic freeform textures. With such a stellar catalogue of releases under their belt, and a hot-bed of talent knocking at Stamina's door of late, it felt only right to open up the DC's work to the world of remixes, which is exactly what both parts of our latest EP deliver. Heading up the Yin side, the powerhouse combo of K-Wire and Lost Faith, no strangers to the label, take on 'Rockin' Up The Mic'. Re-injecting DC regular vocalist MC Cyx' lyrics over a bouncier affair - that unashamedly blurs the boundaries with hardcore - the boys' reworking oozes crossover appeal as it whisks through pianos, rave synths and upfront supersaw melodies. Rick Chubbs returns to Stamina with another killer two-tracker EP. Having been busy carving a name for uplifting and club-hitting freeform hardcore across a variety of labels, we've nabbed another Yin Yang perfect pairing from the man. Kicking things off 'Let Your Ears Do The Talking' builds itself around a clever vocal ident, haunting chorals and emotional breakdown, that gives way to a massive melody that will melt down dancefloors with ease. Ramping up the freeform content in the latter half of the track, Rick drops in hoovers and acid at high BPMs to ensure it's another Stamina slammer firmly in his arsenal. Switching things up for the Yang side and it's heavy on the psy influences as 'Know The Power' sets the pace with tight basslines and punchy low kicks. A big main melody brings us back to euphoric territory before all hell gets let loose again as the psy section drives the track to its fierce conclusion. A winning EP that adds to Rick's ever-growing Stamina Records catalogue.
