Back in 2013 we hosted the showcase of a label that we loved most, PERMANENT VACATION, which already with its first releases had immediately let the electronic scene fall in love with them and made people talk about themselves. 
After 7 years, we are happy to still have a wonderful relationship with Benjamin, co-founder and DJ producer of the label, and also one of the best musical talent scouts in the sector. In love with Italy, his latest album AMIATA is a sound homage to the atmospheres that are felt in front of the monumental mountain that is located in the provinces of Grosseto and Siena.

Well what a dream line up we have here. Leo Mas, Fabrice and Sally Rodgers all come together for a summer bomb on Kenneth Bager's consistent Music For Dreams imprint. The result is an essential modern deep house cut, melancholic pads accompanying Sally's hearfelft vocals of hope and survival while the synths and bass pulse underneath, driving the groove forward. Killer house music from three arists who have been in the game long enough to know how to move a dancefloor.

“(…) ALFOS pilot, Sean Johnston, has a ton of music to about to land. The most balearic of which is an E.P. for Le Temps Perdu. Released under the moniker A Mountain Of Rimowa** the record packages 4 originals, plus a remix by the NYC team of Justin Strauss and Max Pask. Each of the tracks bears a recognizable sample, or recreation there of, spanning the genres of soul, post-punk, and house. But these aren’t edits, or even “radical reinterpretations”. More affectionate nods. Since the borrowed bits aren’t core to the tunes. They aren’t the hooks. More an anchor, a leaping-off point. Sometimes only really evident in the intros and outros. Perhaps deliberately acknowledging the past while reaching for, and returning from, the future. No More takes a line from a soulful chart hit and kinda uses its sentiment – of love and understanding, an end to all wars – as its stance. Re-contextualizing these Shoom favourites in a purely electronic setting. Raining down racing arpeggios and anthem-ic piano. The production betraying its author`s love of Italo and synth pop. Joker replays a section of treated post-punk guitar / ambient isolationist dub. Using it to build a buzzing forceful throb around a skipping motorik rhythm, bleeps and a New Order-esque b-line. Brothers And Sisters In The West on the other hand bases its bass riff on that of an instantly recognizable 80s house classic. The new beat / EBM-flavoured Brothers And Sisters In The East is punk funk, whose bottom-end is hulking, muscular, Paul Simonon-like, while its guitars chop and change between tense and nervous Psycho Killer strum, and angular Mick Jones London Calling shapes. The beat like a machined Barkays` break. Pounding, but not pulverizing. Its echoed rimshots eventually escalating into an intense saber rattle.

**A Mountain Of Rimowa is a reference to the life of the “jetset” DJ, and high-end luggage. It is not – as I imagined – some occult Lovecraftian location. Then again, maybe it is.”

PREMIERE : Spooky - Bells Of Fury Part III

Following the self-release of the debut EP “Driving”, a five-tracker that perfectly captures the feeling of driving on empty roads, Greek-based electronic duo LaGaSta continue their adventures, making house groovers for the late nights, early mornings and everything in between.

The pair’s mesmerizing new single “Steve” is a tribute to the king of cool Steve McQueen and marks their debut release for the ever-excellent imprint Throne Of Blood. The single comes with a strong remix package including stellar reworks by Zombies In Miami, TOB label co-founders Vito & Druzzi, Marcello Giordani and Lauer.

With the original mix of “Steve”, LAGASTA has created a driving slow-burner replete with hypnotic grooves, atmospheric pads and lush melodies. It’s a nearly eight minutes emotional house escapade. Just get behind the wheel and keep driving.

First up on remix duties is Mexico's Zombies In Miami, who infuse the original with a extra dose of synths, delivering something special that’s perfectly suited for both headphones and the dancefloor. Next up is Vito & Druzzi’s funk-filled groover with a disco feel that rewards repeat listens. Italian maestro Marcello Giordani, best known as one half of Marvin & Guy, works his magic transforming “Steve” into a dark and epic ride that you just don’t want to end. Last but not least, Frankfurt-based producer and Tuff City Kids member Lauer serves up two synth-driven remixes to close out the release.

Amsterdam collective Filament readies its third various artist EP on the label and delivers a worthy follow-up of the first ever EP, fest i, on the label. Again Bart, Chris and Bart, the names and musical minds behind Filament curated four special and genre-manifold tracks from artists that they find either inspiring, can musically relate to or have been following for a moment, in other words fest ii contains music from Super Drama, Glowing Palms, LoFi- and Ghetto House luminary Ghostwhip and Filament Deejays themselves, who contribute 4:28 P.M to the EP. The latter is the trio’s second studio track after 1 P.M. was part of fest i last year and underlines Filament’s magnific sense of combining exceptional (world music) influences with electronic music. Shortly before the release of fest ii Torture the Artist caught up with the two Barts and Chris to speak about their passion for vinyl and the upcoming release, intense DJ sets, the label’s focus, their personal background story and how it all got started as well as their studio works. Of course, the three friends compiled a very deep and multi-faceted art:cast, a vinyl-only set, to accompany their words. Let’s call it a fest, because that’s what it is.

Architect, stage designer, promoter, wine-connoisseur, DJ - Tiago Oudman has it all or rather is it all. Famous for his Basement Love-events hailing from Bali, the Portuguese rooted artist spreads his loving and lovely House-vibes around the world and is one of the few DJs who's made career without own releases. And for those who have witnessed one of Tiago's sets live or streamed, for example, his Boiler Room appearances, are certainly aware of the reasons: Tiago lives the music he plays with every fiber of his body and transports the released energy onto his audience so that there is basically no other option than dancing those dancing shoes off to his sound. But the currently in Lisbon-based artist has more in the pipe and is working at a project that combines his passion for music with extraordinary beverages. Until then dance till there is no tomorrow to Tiago's art:cast special which was recorded at Else  a few weeks back when he hosted a Basement Love-event in Berlin.
