Following on from Type-303’s breakthrough The New Ravelution EP, Insult To Injury areproud to present You Ruined SST For Me EP by long time label friends, Pink Skull.We first heard Vr4l4r last year and immediately knew we had to put it out, as itmanages to be both an acid banger and a chordal, emotive piece simultaneously. No mean feat. F4n4pt turns up the heat (and the grit) with groove laden drum machines and analogue synthesisers firing machinegun-esque rhythms over the top. S4phr1s is aslightly weirder affair, as atonal bleeps & noises are anchored by the pounding 4/4 kickdrum.
Finally, label boss Timothy Clerkin provides a dance-floor-ready version of S4phr1s : 808‘s boom and 303’s squelch – it’s an acid workout for the warehouse.

“Sometimes you wake up and you’ve just lost the plot. Is life great or is it not? Should I eat more fruit? Is buying diamonds rude?” Ca$hminus are asking all the wrong questions. After their debut on Bordello A Parigi last year and a recent appearance on Credit 00’s Rat Life imprint, the Belgo-Australiana duo unleash a collection of their wildest works to date. The package opens with “Atlandwehr”, a jaunting affair that could have risen from the filthy Berlin Landwehr canal, only to dissolve again after six frenzied minutes, leaving nothing but a trace of bubbles on the skanky surface. The gritty “La Foire”, a grimy take on Belgian new beat, fuses raw, stepping drums with a playfully gnarly synth line. Luckily “De Vlasmarkt” is lurking around the corner: this is the awkwardly joyous soundtrack to an annual phenomenon in Ghent, where young and old folks gather on the “Vlasmarkt” square after a heavy night of boozing, to collectively gaze at at the sun coming up whilst drinking Irish coffees until they drop. G-funk meets electro on the flipside, where Cora from Chengdu showcases her vocal swag on “生命还存在意义吗？” to a backdrop of supreme subbass and rattling beats. Man of the moment Cornelius Doctor of HARD FIST fame (the adventurous imprint he runs with Tushen Rai) delivers a beast of a rework that both hypnotizes and elevates. The acapella leaves you in charge of your own destiny.

Futureboogie continue to shine a spotlight on Bristol’s ever-burgeoning music scene, with an EP from Natural Sugars, backed with a firing remix from accomplished Lithuanian DJ, Manfredas!

Having previously cropped up on Glasgow’s Invisible, Inc. label, Tim Oxley Smith’s Natural Sugars project serves up some top-drawer sunshine vibes on the ‘Zombie Jungle’ EP.  The title track pulls down the sun visor for an exotic and alluring mix of tropical beats and proto-house elements, whilst a dubbed out mood is cast over the chugging Balearica of ‘The Soothsayer’.

Manfredas has cut his teeth on the DJ circuit to become a most in demand selector on the leftfield circuit, and makes a rare foray into remix territory with a spicy version of ‘Zombie Jungle’.  Thick bass synth over charging Italo beats, a touch of cowbells and a ‘hands in the air’ inducing breakdown, what’s not to love!  ‘Sarsen Trail’ rounds things off with hovering keys, subtle acid and chorused guitar licks over a chugging rhythm.

Natural Sugars - Zombie Jungle (FBR067) [clip]

Taipei Taiwan's brand new label 禁 (JIN) makes a strong impression with compilation like debut. Kick starting with Initials B.B. On A1 - A Trancy house classic layered with floating melody reminiscent of traveling through the wilderness with breeze, while Tokyo's one n only Gonno's A2 remix puts 909 into full force. Stomping kick drum makes this cut a lethal weapon for late night utopia on any dance floors.  

B1 takes a drastic turn to the other spectrum of Taipei underground.  Up & coming local talent Lujiachi sucks you to the dim light of Taipei darkness, night-crawling the way with Industrial drum pattern, spooky East Asian horn and swaggy bassline that's as unpredictable and addictive as there is. B2 & B3 sees Stockholms wizard Samo DJ remixes - showcasing his trademark weirdo slow motion electro / dubby stamps strictly made out of MPC.
