Ten years into the fold and still 100%. 2nd Life Silk celebrates the label's decade anniversary in the spirit in which it started: inclusive, interwoven, and independent. All 11 artists (or aliases) are new to the roster, stationed from Saint Leonards to San Francisco, Portland to Pittsburgh, spanning deserts, everglades, and intercoastal urban jungles. The sounds are sidewinding and singular but share a mood of hypnotic movement, homemade and low slung, slow strobe dance transmissions from back rooms and basements. Across 69 minutes the compilation surfs memory disco, snake-charmer jack, eco-techno, spiral tribalism, diamond downtempo, breatharian house, skyscraper smooth groove, and mystic new wave fusion, riding different waves of the same sea. Rhythm isn't strict and gates don't need keepers. From one life to the 2nd, music will outlast it all.

Here's a preview from our release (ICE-005), Zambian band Witch's early 80's rarity Movin' On. Known for their psychedelic fuzz masterpiece Lazy Bones, this is another side of Witch. This time around the band created another masterpiece, but this time with a whole new sound capturing the spirit of the early 80's, and changing political atmosphere in Africa with a perfect mix of MJ/Jake Solo boogie, and Fleetwood Mac AOR moves. This is an album in the fullest sense, a snapshot of the group at their creative peak, with stellar musicianship, blending American and African influences and peerless production and synthesizer work by the great Patrick Mwondela. This is the African/Balearic boogie version of Band On The Run.

Music Is My Sanctuary is excited to share a beautiful piece of instrumental psychedelic soul from GODTET, led by the talented Sydney-based guitarist and producer Godriguez (producer of Sampa the Great's "The Great Mixtape").

Godriguez marshalled together some of the best musicians of the new generation in Sydney: A head priest of the Cuban Ifa religion, the step-son of Australia's greatest ever funk and soul musician, Australia's leading drummer in this new generation and a deeply emotionally gifted pianist from New Zealand. These disparate backgrounds culminate with incredibly sensitive musical and emotional connections to form GODTET.

To adjourn the past two improvised records, Godriguez was looking to compose for the next release. The 'Suite' EP is the amalgamation of the earlier GODTET LP sounds and Godriguez's produced albums, through-composed as a 15 minute suite. To be true to the long-form, through-composed piece, the band recorded this release live; one take, no over-dubs and straight to tape.
