In Flagranti return with their upcoming release, ‘Double Talk’ out on THE PLAYGROUND Records. The pair were once renowned for their tongue in cheek approach to slightly depraved, grimy and totally intoxicating nu-disco; one of their albums was even given the title “Brash and Vulgar” back in 2011. There are many waiting with baited breath to see what they’ll serve up this time around. 

In keeping with the spontaneous nature of their sound, Alex Gloor and Sasa Crnobrnja have been known to be some what illusive, with their website bio once reading “These guys don't really have a bio, they are so funny like that. Well anyway, you need to know that these are 2 Swiss cheese Muthafucka's who re-installed their rumps in NYC in the 80's, 90's or whenever (they are sooo old!! heh-heh)”. The duo met in Switzerland in 1991 and since 2002 have been hopping around the globe as In Flagranti, cropping up on labels such as Kitsuné, Gomma and Erol Alkan’s Phantasy Sound and quickly becoming a unique part of the disco landscape. 

Double Talk’s nostalgic disco-leaning flourishes are executed with astounding compositional skill; something that In Flagranti have been famed for. With ludicrous amounts of funk and ultra smooth vocal injections, it didn’t take long for a list of exciting artists to take the stems of the track in order to birth some remixes.  
The first is from Andy Butler, otherwise known as the driving force behind Hercules and Love Affair. A more industrial rendition of the original, Butler is an expert when it comes to knowing when to build and when to drop and he does so with precision. Next up is musician and producer, Wolfram, who puts analogue rhythms at the forefront to create something more early hours orientated than its predecessors. Finally, Dinamo Azari of Azari & III takes it down a few notches, whilst maintaining that late night feel, with his moody, tech-house centric adaptation.

IN FLAGRANTI-  "Double Talk" (Andy Butler- Hercules & Love Affair remix)

We do like Ptaki a lot here at LYO ; in case you missed it, the duo delivered a delightful blend for our mix serie (and we even had the pleasure to play with one of its member in Manchester few weeks ago). Ptaki take another journey with Transatlantyk imprint to bring you the remixes of their well received debut album. Alongside unreleased dub from the “Przelot” sessions, you’ll find two great reworks here, both by contemporary heroes of the fast rising Polish house scene ; Eltron John and Das Komplex.
The real gem here is Eltron’s 10 minute version of “Sloneczny Pyl”, taking a whole A Side for a reason. It’s a straight up peaktime house banger destined for a summerjam status. Catchy female vocal loop from the ambient original is surrounded here by massive warm bassline running on a dubwise tip, layered tribal drums and percussions, and a few cisterns of raw, oily effects, guitar licks and pouring keyboard pads. And that enormous breakdown too... Eltron’s trademark “big room deep” vibe mixed with Ptaki’s slice of sampled psychedelia created a track that’s already a road-tested crowd favourite ! No matter where the winds may blow, what storms may come or what pirates will do, the Transatlantyk ship is still sailing. Navigated for the last three years by Zambon out of Berlin, ultimately avoiding the shallow waters of the generic and constantly patrolling the seas in search of exciting sounds. After all that sailing the label just had to replenish its ranks with some fresh faces - those still capable of voyaging into the unknown. Joining the crew is a young gun TAMTEN, who by day serves as a vinyl pusher in Warsaw's finest Side One record store. What he does by night is not the matter of this short text, but we are sure he does a lot of it. Hence his love for all things distant - from subaquatic pads and floating riffs, to new-age-y siren voices, otherworldly effects and percussion drenched in reverb. There is a lot of similarly distant, sun-bleached material on this five tracker, full of a druggy and hippy Balearic feel. Beautiful ambient jam 'Przebudzenie' is the stand out track, but 'Znaki Czasu' is equally as good with its simple, yet memorable melody, reminding of dawns and sunsets on some God forsaken beach. Sultry deepness of 'Nieznajoma' is followed by enchanting digital exotica of 'Wyrocznia' and wavey trip-hop cut 'Po Burzy'. Overall its one of the strongest EPs that Transatlantyk managed to co-opt into its growing catalogue. Definitely one for the dreamers.
