Panthera Krause joins the Lobster Theremin stable with a mid-summer trip into the heart of the sun. Drawing on a plethora of classic house influences, Krause weaves these into a style which is a at once recognisable yet uniquely his own, production-wise drawing as much from the MPC-led West Coast beat scene as the European house approach. 

'Rules' kicks off the EP with a serious throwing of the gauntlet.. A slightly shuffled beat being quickly overtaken by a groove-hefty wandering bassline that bobs it's way around a melodic 8-bar refrain, suddenly smothered and smudged by the glowing warmth of sun-tinged pads. Pure summer analogue headiness distilled into 6 minutes of terrace-slaying bliss. 

On the flip, 'Rewo' takes a dusty shakin' drum pattern and filters a cut-throat sampled 'n' filtered piano stab into the mix. All seemingly harmless until the gargantuan sub bass comes rumbling into the fray. Solid lobster pool-party action on a 5* LA hotel rooftop. 

Closing out the EP, and moving things into edits-y territory, is 'Them Flutes'. Although debatable whether there are actually discernible flutes in the track, the final number is built around a looping proto-disco element that steadily evolves while shoving a cattle-prod to the hips when those periodic chords hit.

Bristol based imprint FutureBoogie delivers rock solid nu-disco and house 12"s for already five years now. Their latest release to date by Lauer certainly didn't disappoint and they're now rolling into spring
with a heavyweight one from dastardly duo Ron & Neil Aka Ron Basejam and Neil Diablo, who between them bring years of musical chops and (most importantly) "the funk" to the table.
In its Original Mix, ‘Perdre Son Éclat’ is a breezy yet sturdy slice of atmospheric synth dance, resplendent with swirling riffs and stammering bass. A thunderous Roland CR-78 drum pattern keeps everything in check, and its sultry french vocals flitter between spoken word and harmonious refrains, lacing the track with a superb "new wave" feel.
Here premiered, a remix comes courtesy of Man Power, the musical enigma that traded on his anonymity for a couple of years before coming clean as the English DJ/producer Geoff Kirkwood. Having released on labels like Hivern, Throne Of Blood and Correspondant, Man Power takes "Perdre Son Éclat" into even deeper territories, crafting a moody and spacious version that respectfully stays close to the original mix. Kalbata - Enkuan Part 1 (STW Premiere)

For its second release of 2018, Days Of Being Wild welcomes London duo Super Drama.
What strikes us immediately with “Affected Elegance” is Super Drama’s taste for an analog and rough production - the tracks have a “straight to tape” live feel far from the carefully computer constructed productions you tend to hear these days. There is a rough and ready attitude to their new wave and Italo tinted sound, with disco bass-lines and DX7 pads and bells melodies.
The title track could easily be an 1986 New Order b-side with its balearic pads, disco bass line and “Blue Monday” kick, while “Hausu” with its female vocals and retro drum machines sounds like a forgotten Italo instrumental mix. Black Rose follows in the same vein of twisted disco noir with its pitched down voice over a pulsing bass line. Closing the EP, we find old pal Kiwi remixing “Affected Elegance”. Kiwi keeps in with the old school electronic disco vibe but brings his own unique style of modernity taking the track to stratospheric disco heights, stripping down to its core to build it back to an emotional climax.
