”Trans-World Junktion tells the story of El Marcianito, a Martian on an interplanetary mission. He has landed on Earth in an attempt to resurrect a ghost that lives in an acid swamp, a token of the dead state of mankind. Regardless of the warnings; fragile ecosystems, political instability and poverty, humans have been fooled. Greed and pacifying technologies have distracted them from the truth. 

In 'El Baile de Los Muertos', the "resurrected" and now conscious humans joyfully dance and celebrate in a glimmer of light and hope. All seems calm and peaceful after the celebrations, but something is not right. The leakage of toxic substances from the swamp has led mutated monsters to rise up with fury against the humans. Mother Nature has reacted, but is the damage caused irreversible? 

A frantic chase and battle begins in 'Mania', where El Marcianito and MLiR finally manage to escape to the utopian Planet O, seeking wisdom from the almighty Octopus Gods. Will it be too late when they return?

Nu Fancy - Living it up

Love Not Sex is the second Stubb release from Paper Recordings' Ben Davis (Flash Atkins) forthcoming on vinyl and digital.

The original is a melancholic slice of sunshine that draws inspiration from MOR and blue-eyed soul with a hefty dose of balearica. Acoustic guitars, Rhodes, live drums and strings plus Crazy P's Tim Davis on bass provide the perfect cinematic backdrop for the plaintive vocals of Huw Costin (Torn Sail) and Rachel Foster. 

Japanese edit hero Mori Ra delivers his first ever remix and its a doozy. Keeping the bones of the original track, he takes it in to dark psychedelic waters with the help of former_airline's tripped out guitar. A spoken vocal tips it in to full Balearic wonkiness that will have the likes of DJ Harvey and Bjørn Torske getting hot under their disco beards.

Bergen's Leca employs his trademark stripped back crisp production for a warm, dreamy remix. Steel guitar, clicks, whirrs and a Nordic playfulness make for a cosmic journey to the Northern Lights.

20 years marks the last output of A man called Adam, and this limited edition Vinyl sampler ‘Farmarama’ accomplishes a lot, skimming through a ludicrous amount of different styles, from Acid Jazz, smooth Balearic house, slow jams and everything in between.

Sally & Steve have also dusted off and polished their long held cult label ‘Other Records’ for the release. We’re totally unsure how after such a long hiatus it’s possible to get it quite so bang on, and fit seamlessly back with the musical landscape, and push things forward. This is probably one to be only pondered on by us mere mortals, as re-entries as smooth as this normally only can be architected by NASA. 

We’re premiering a Prins Thomas remix (Norwegian Golden Boy and all round superb producer) of ‘Paul Valery at the Disco’, who has given a more chilled world-y sound to an already very smooth and chilled disco cut. Think laidback percussion, a sauntering arrangement and a more lackadaisical approach to rhythm.
