2027 is (hopefully) the year when the ELT (the Extremly Large Telescope) is going to be finished and will start its work and will help us to explain the secrets of the universe. 

This is my anthem for this masterpiece of engineering and scientific skills.

Exogenetic - The Sweet Possession (Original Mix)

Over the last few years, Rostami has been playing with new ideas using field recordings, improvised piano, and tape processing. Already having made a few records experimenting with these ideas, "Siren" sets itself apart as a concentrated approach to illustrate abstract environments and landscapes through sound. On songs like "Cold Stream" and "The Recent Past" you will hear literal field recordings of nature mixed with composed musical emulations of environments, whether it be a representation of running water or the quiet nostalgia of suburban life. Songs like "Landscape" and "Today and Tomorrow" take field recordings of field recording records played in Rostami's studio space along with multiple recordings of the same piano performance. The piano is recorded with a field recorder, as midi and as a D/I recording and woven together, in and out, blending the soundscapes of field recordings and studio recordings into an undefined grey area.

Aria Rostami currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. Rostami started releasing music in 2011 and has releases on labels such as Spring Theory, Glacial Movements, Dark Entries, Crash Symbols, Zoom Lens, Audiobulb and Jacktone Records. Aria Rostami occasionally performs and releases work with Daniel Blomquist.

Sound In Silence is proud to announce the return of Hessien, presenting their new album The Alchemist.

This is their second release on the label after the highly acclaimed, and already sold out, Calcifer EP back in 2013.

Hessien is the ambient duo of Tim Martin (Maps and Diagrams, Atlantis, Karst, Bluhm, Black Elk, Ouvala) and Charles Sage (y0t0, The Rothko Chapel).
A twenty-year UK electronic and experimental veteran with over thirty album releases, Tim Martin has released on multiple labels and appeared on John Peel's iconic radio show. In addition to curating the Citygenetic project, his photography has been shown globally in the CityLab art collective, he dabbles in audio visual comms and he also runs the Handstitched* record label.
After a solid ten years on Australia’s indie pub circuit, Charles Sage issued four releases as y0t0 and co-founded guitar noise collective The Rothko Chapel (Pete Dowd, Noveller, Steve Kilbey, Tape Loop Orchestra, elintseeker, Tree Of Man). He also curated Internecine: The Vanished Musicians, a multimedia tribute to refugee musicians interned during the Second World War.

Hessien were prolific in the first half of the last decade, releasing works on Fluid Audio, Sound In Silence, Beko DSL, Long Story, and Audio Gourmet.
After an extended hiatus, Hessien return with The Alchemist, a companion piece to 2010’s Home Is Where the Ghost Is, a one-hour asymmetrical trip through guitar textured dream-state sound design. Carefully mastered by George Mastrokostas (Absent Without Leave), The Alchemist is an evolution in their instantly recognisable tone, reflecting the influence of side projects, collaborations, and life experiences of the last ten years.

This is a limited edition of 200 handmade and hand-numbered collectible copies. It is packaged in a lovely hand-stamped 127mm x 127mm 250 gsm dark brown recycled cardboard envelope with the front cover image printed on a polaroid style photo paper and an insert sheet containing tracklist and information printed on a 120 gsm smoky grey recycled cardboard. It also comes bundled with a download code coupon and a Sound In Silence card.

I write songs influenced by a certain mood or the wish to reflect events which happened to me. Sometimes a single picture can contain the idea of a complete song, sometimes a movie (or its music) influences me to write a track.Whatever it is, it´s always a request of my heart to tell a story.

I´ve grown up with the “New Age” music of the 80ies, with soundtracks by James Horner, Joel Goldsmith or Alan Silvestri. I´ve experienced the vivid pop music of that time as well as the great electronic music by Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Kitaro or Tomita. Jan Hammer´s exceptionally music for “Miami Vice” was the reason, why I started to compose electronic music.

Writing a song is like telling a story – and I hope you like my stories.
