To participate in the Haiku Music challenge::

- Make a song in response to the weekly assigned poem (a new poem is published every Wednesday)
- When choosing a title for your piece also include the assignment number, for example “Title of your track (naviarhaiku382)”

To submit your track:

- If you’re a Soundcloud user, upload it on Soundcloud and send me the URL via private message, or tag me in the track.
- If you upload your music on Youtube, Bandcamp or anywhere else, upload your submission and then send me the link by email at marco@naviarrecords.com or contact me on X, Facebook or Instagram

Raindrops falling in my cup
Coffee morning just woke up
Reasons mattered before time stopped
No one travelled and no one shopped
No you never got in line
Never stopped on a dime
You always wanted just to sing
Circled around and tied the ring. 

It always will grow
Is there a way I don’t know?
The garden’s got seed
A wind full of breeze…

Won’t see the light of day
Could barely repeat refrain
Counting all the money you spend
On nothing more than a big fat hen

Desensitized by karma dreams 
A prickly place to hide the seams
Reaching out to another brain
Trading riffs that last through days…

It always will grow
Is there a way I don’t know?

Two Csound instruments intertwine to shape this composition. The first instrument, a trio of oscillators, generates a sonic tapestry, enriched by a flanging effect achieved through a cross-modulated random vibrato. A second instrument acts as both a mixer and a spatializer, while a subtle ring modulation, created by a passing cross-feedback, underpins the piece. The composition revolves around a minimalist drone, centered on the notes C# and B.

method: guitar, pedals, voice, audacity
narration: just what the poem says (okay, offering a clue to toying with the clew: there is light - lux - as the main topic here, things you can and cannot perceive, that might and might not be at all - beyond mere appearances. Remember, however, how a haiku works - surprise overcomes you in the last line, not the one before that which still sets the natural and supernatural scene, no matter the momentum of tension it builds! - ... and, of course, a bow to a certain British poet's perspective on totemism might be in the cards as well ;-)

De la douceur, de la sensibilité, des guitares et des voix qui s 'entrecroisent, des rythmes lents mais puissants. Ces ingrédients créent une ambiance unique dans laquelle on peut néanmoins deviner des parentés multiples.
Interactions parle de ce qui nous rend humain, nos émotions, et de la façon dont elles s 'articulent avec celles des autres.
Un morceau électro en collaboration avec l 'artiste électro Aor Agni en bonus dans ce premier EP.

I love listening to & creating ambient, dark ambient, avant-garde & experimental electronica (and the occasional beatscape). I have no professional aspirations  - I just really like creating music / manipulating sounds. It's my way of relaxing after a hard day at the office. All my tracks are produced using monitoring headphones (Audix A140) so I recommend that you listen to my music through headphones. My DAW of choice is FL Studio. I also use Reason every now & then. 


To the artists I follow; I do my best to try to listen to as many of your tracks as possible each night (I listen to each track all the way through - you went through the effort to create a track so you deserve to have it heard in full). If I miss a recent upload of yours, please forgive me...
