Lion’s Drums full length exists as an exploration in multiple dimensions. First by challenging the notion of the album format by presenting a body of work that lies snuggly between remixes, edits and original works and secondly as a means to delve into the transcendent potential of the drum. 

Textures hovering above in the Manos Tsangaris’ collaboration “Crying Tafel” and his re-imagining of Tullio De Piscopo’s unhinged drum excursion “Fastness”. The closing exemplifies the edit/remix/original ethos proposed for this work with Lions Drums drawing from tapes and original material of electronic pioneers Suzanne Ciani and Roberto Musci. Drawing from unreleased music and song sketches by the original artists as well as field recordings from travels & studio sessions made by Roberto Musci & Manos Tsangaris in the 80's and early 90’s he constructs a side winding journey through playful textures and ethereal moods.

On their way from Roma to Brussels, Maurizio and Ugo AKA Front de Cadeaux (F2C) made a little stop in Paris to slow down the beat at Antinote.

We are thrilled to come back after a little break with the first EP from these two big boys on the label. For our first release of 2022 we offer the double smasher "Sad is Fashion" and "Trans Emois", two heavy and slow club weapons. These two rockets will please techno and trance heads as well as bass, dubstep lovers.

Antinote have been fans of F2C since their collaboration with Lexidisques in 2016 and of course their limited edition hit "La Ketamine” which was released 2 years laters by Emet.

Hope you'll enjoy the very simple style and straight to the point club music as much as we do as there is more to come from Front de Cadeaux on the label later this year.

For the next 12inch in the Lion’s Choice series we teamed up with Zulu Vibes from France for a rootikal treat prepared at their Alternative Corner Studio. It’s the manifestation of a unique musical meeting with the singer and player of instruments Prince Chamba and musician friends Macca Dread and Crucial Rob.
First the uptempo ‘Judgement Time’ in a rockers fashion, followed by a more laid-back, melodious roots excursion, ‘Conscious Way’, on the flip. Of course each with a dub version. All transferred to 1/2inch tape and mastered with care by Star Delta.

Après leur première release, Underground Dubwise sortie en mai 2011, Mahom est de retour avec Dub by Sub, accessible en libre téléchargement chez Original Dub Gathering. Cet opus, résolument stepper, navigue entre dub français et dub UK. Fidèle à ses convictions, il invite à un voyage musical avec pour destination la protection de l’environnement !

Le travail de Mahom est riche des rencontres faites sur la route et quatre des neuf morceaux de la release sont donc naturellement des featurings.

Enrichie d’un mélodica, leur riddim Faso Feu qui fait le tour des soundsystems (Bamba - Daba Makourejah), est remixé dans une version « maison »: FasoDub !

Sur Lettre à la Planète, interlude directement inspirée et adressée à notre Mère Nature, Fedayi Pacha et son duduk donnent au riddim une dimension mystique.

Cyril (Tetra Hydro K) avec lequel ils ont partagé un bout de chemin lors du festival Subsonic en Roumanie, s’est laissé aller avec son mélodica inspiré sur le méditatif Rêve du chat.

Enfin, Mayd Hubb nous fait le plaisir de s’approprier le titre Tu me fais dubber la tête pour un remix explosif !

Cinq escales riches en surprises complètent l’album. Vous plongerez dans l’ambiance sombre de Fukushima. Tu me fais dubber la tête vous entraînera dans une trance enivrante. Another day vous tiendra en haleine tandis que Résistances vous entrainera dans une lutte infernale. Enfin, vous découvrirez la vision de Mahom du « warrior » stepper dans Woodpecker.
