We are continuing the countdown to our anniversary with a set played by Nastya Vogan on the 23rd of September at Backyard, at one of the last sunny outdoor parties of the year. Nastya Vogan is a ∄  resident known for her complex yet playful approach to club music. Enjoy!

∄ ANNIVERSARY COUNTDOWN ③ NASTYA VOGAN

A new set from the ‘Before The Curfew’ series is up on SoundCloud. This set was played by Serge Jazzmate on the 23rd of July at Backyard.

Serge Jazzmate has been a fixture of Kyiv's music scene for quite some years. He is known as the co-founder of the legendary local house night, LOW, as well as a versatile dj who always delivers perfectly crowd-pleasing selections. 

The series is updated on a weekly basis with recordings of sets that have been played in our space since the beginning of the russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Tune in and don't forget to support the Ukrainian army, volunteer organizations and funds, including the ∄ community fund which continues to support volunteer initiatives from representatives of our community.

Listen to the latest edition of Outset, our series exploring different approaches to opening events. This set blends dreamy, occasionally playful ambient with touches of techno.

The first part of the performance cultivates a sense of inner calm and deep immersion. A smooth transition into rhythmic elements sparks curiosity as new sounds build momentum. Deep dub techno fills the space with rich vibrations and textures, guiding listeners into relaxation and setting the stage for a musical journey at the Community Event.

Ethereal and evolving soundscapes during the first hours of each Community Event, always a reason to come earlier.

Outset — is a show available on SoundCloud, which highlights the opening sets of the Community Events. Outset focuses on the initial performances that kick-off events, allowing one to experience and appreciate the music that sets the tone for the evening.

Випускаємо новий епізод DTF Magazine Mix. Його авторка — @chekachekaa — відходить від властивого їй важкого техно, поєднуючи гардгаус, електро, ейсид і грув з трансовим звучанням, водночас залишаючись вірною своїм смакам і селекції.
 
І пояснює: «Емоція цього міксу — подих свіжого повітря в забрудненому жорстокістю і несправедливості світі, де в музиці можна знайти прихисток для душі, де музика може дати заряд енергії, яку так складно отримати десь ще. Я, як тривожна людина, знаходжу в музиці спокій і хочу, щоб його відчули слухачі цього міксу».

На обкладинку ми помістили фото, зроблене CHEKA зранку на вечірці у 2019 році. 

CHEKA —  українська диджейка та продюсерка, частина команди й резидентка Laboratorium. Виступала, зокрема, в ∄ у Києві, Tresor і RSO в Берліні, Fuse в Брюсселі та інших місцях.

∄ is a cultural institution in Kyiv, established in 2019 on the territory of a former brewery, located at 41 Kyrylivska Street. It serves as a multifunctional space for club events like ∄ Community Events, Curated By, Enareї, for experimental music concerts like Miasma of the Real and other cultural events.

∄ also manages the in-house music label Standard Deviation. Established in September 2020, Standard Deviation is a multidisciplinary label for music, art and publishing, cultivating creative exchange between an aspiring Ukrainian scene and a global community.

K41 is the community-born name of the institution embraced and widely used by the public.
