Bassiani resident Hamatsuki cooks up an hour of flirty electronics for Podcast number 138. This one’s an ambient riff on his casual hybrid of optimistic and laid back sounds. Over the last years, Mamuka Tskhadaia has become a Horoom staple, perfecting a formula that reliably keeps a crowd of avid ravers in his fold. Next up in our mix series is Zitto & Zurkin, two central figures and cornerstones in the Tbilisi-scene. Zitto is a resident at Bassiani, and is turning into one of the most intriguing figures for the local clubbing sphere, with his level of selection and world building. Zurkin is another central figure of the Tbilisi community, being the co-founder of Vodkast Records, both an imprint and Tbilisi vinyl oasis for fervid record lovers.

In this episode we are presenting a marathon live recording of their closing set from Bassiani, January 27th. Dive into this 9,5 hour ride, where they navigate between trance and psychedelic techno from the past three decades. Steering seamlessly through rolling chuggers, trippy euphoria and wormhole trance, Zitto and Zurkin are a truly fruitful symbiosis.

Next up comes a very special set recorded live at Bassiani/Horoom’s ten year anniversary in early October. Having made common cause with the club in its infancy, longtime resident Hamatsuki (Mamuka Tskhadaia) and Morevi Records key figure Skyra (Sandro Papaskiri) are a perfect vector for the club’s vision. These two homegrown talents are legends in their own right, and well versed in their musical skill, teaming up on occasion and getting people moving to the sound of their surging beats. The community built around them and their Georgian confrères has grown exponentially since casual beginnings on the ground in Tbilisi, and the timeless mark they’ve left on the soul of the city is testament to its creative spirit. From chilled-out releases to laid back sets, the duo have an innate feeling for the other that complements and sparks surprising new ideas, downtempo house that sounds as fresh today as it did back then. For Bassiani Podcast 235, the pair flex their well-trained muscle and deliver an hour of groovy and undulating sounds, unbent rhythms for the dancing class. Tbilisi energy to the letter. Next up in our mix-series is our good friend from Georgia, Kvanchi. Kvanchi is a central figure in Tbilisi's scene, being a resident and a core member at Bassiani. As a regular in Horoom, the club's upstairs, he has earned a reputation as one of the city's finest selectors. His deep connection to the local scene is evident not just in his sets, but also through his work as the label manager for Bassiani Records, where he champions both local and international talent.

For this mix Kvanchi takes us on the trippier and trancier sides of his collection, mixing old school stripped down goa records and minimal groove lockers. Kvanchi infuses the mix with a distinct blend of precision and world building - embodying the essence of his artistry, offering a glimpse into the groovy and rolling realms of trance music.

∄ also manages the in-house music label Standard Deviation. Established in September 2020, Standard Deviation is a multidisciplinary label for music, art and publishing, cultivating creative exchange between an aspiring Ukrainian scene and a global community.

K41 is the community-born name of the institution embraced and widely used by the public.
