Latin Mistress

Hey guys,

like everyone I took the stems and just mixed them until it sounded right to me. I use logic pro and took each stem through the UAD Neve 88RS channel strip to give it a console feel. I added the UAD Cambridge EQ on the bass drum which I doubled up and gated with an inverse polarity to sort the phase out to create a bit of separation and blended it in. I did a similar thing with the snare and toms at the end for the same reason. I added slate digital's tape machine across some channels.

I EQd the vocals, guitar and bass until I was happy with the sound. I created 2 sends for compression, one 'normal' and the other parallel and used different amount of 'send' to both as I did with 4 reverbs and blended to taste.

On the stereo output channel I put some Slate tape emulation to glue it all and a bit of gentle compression. I took it into a master file, used a UAD Manley EQ, with Slate digital's FG-X and then some more Slate digital tape saturation.

One last thing, obviously we all want to win but if I don't it's been a great experience and learning curve. The band sound great and Liza Colby has an AMAZING voice.
