The song is an ironic gesture towards the hypocrisy of society and the quest for "originality" which seems to just end up with people adhering to trends anyway:
"I've grown up to be individual, I'd like to think that there's no-one else like me" is an ironic statement because it is very difficult to try and be original because people either call it attention seeking, or it is just adhering to a certain social group.

Track 7 from Kiss This but in an unusual acoustic format; recorded semi live (as in one vocal track and guitar were done live, mandolin, drum and other vocal tracks were done separately).

A live acoustic version of track 2 from Kiss This. It sounds very melancholy but I actually think it works rather well considering how very different it is to the proper version of the song.

This was recorded completely live in my bedroom, just my 12-string and I on about the third take.

Holding A Gun To The Head Of God (Acoustic)

Another "Kiss This" demo. This is track ten on the album, following the frantic "AngelChrist" this is a more reflective track centred on realism and the realisation of how fragile existence can be and the fragility and vulnerability of man. The whole album tells a story and this fits in near the end, before the disillusioned "Double Standards" and the manic conclusion and title track: "Kiss This".

A nice little acoustic number written in America. Slightly different to anything I've ever done before but I think it works quite nicely! The first vocal track was recorded in a normal room and the second in a shower cubicle which I think really helped with the reverb and echo sounds and is certainly a trick I will keep up my sleeve for the future! The introduction section came about after a sunny afternoon spent in the garden fending off the bugs with my beautiful little beaten up acoustic which I found here last year which sounds lovely on the solo - great fun to record/play that bit!

You can thank Jem Stanley for this one! My youngest brother asked me to play him the Pingu song on the guitar and then asked me to record a punk version of it so he could have it on his ipod... Maybe this should be a tribute to one of the greatest children's tv programs out there
