Qmusic Guestmix (2025-11-22)

Dusted off the CDJ's for a 2h30 trip down memory lane. Full-blown 140bpm trance. So don't expect any kind of recent popular house or EDM, not this time. 

Randomly filled with tracks that made me get goosebumps years ago, and still do. It's probably been more than 1.5y since I properly mixed something, so expect a bit of rustiness. 

I could have gone on for another 5 hours worth of music, but this is enough for now :)

StanV, a.k.a. Stijn Vermeulen, is a progressive trance producer based in Belgium with an innovative style that blends a modern sensibility with traces of the melodic and atmospheric trance of the early 2000s. Drawing influence from artists including Eric Prydz, CamelPhat, Grum as well as talent such as Andrew Bayer, StanV has gained a lot of ground in his career over the last couple of years. He layers haunting melodies over hypnotic beats with the touch of a fully-developed recording artist who knows who he is and exactly where he’s going.

A 90s kid, StanV came up on music from Tiësto, back when he was stilled called DJ Tiësto. The Belgian connection was never far away, however, with acts like Push, Fiocco, Sylver and The Mackenzie being part of his daily listening routine. Visiting Tiësto In Concert in 2004 at the mere age of 12 resulted in him knowing at once what he’d be doing for many years to come. He was a bedroom DJ at first but, over time, discovered he liked producing and creating music more than simply playing it. A self-taught musician, he makes tracks by feel, alone, and lives by the idea that goosebumps never lie. Crafting his own sound, StanV aspires to become one of the most crucially artistic producers on the international scene and needs to be heard by anyone seeking the future of progressive trance.
