Synth diva Velvet Velour — the architect behind Jardin De Bliss label — is back with her new se EP THALASSA. This EP is inspired by the sea—its mystery, depth, and ever-changing nature. Each track reflects a different side of the ocean, from its calm, hypnotic waves to its dark, untamed energy. Four tracks, four moods, one goal — a full-fledged synth-dive into the darkest and most beautiful depths of the abyss.

"Corals" kicks things off with a pulsing indie-dance beat both hypnotic and unsettling - like stumbling upon a hidden rave at the bottom of the ocean. Shimmering synth layers intertwine with echoing percussion, evoking the eerie beauty of deep-sea bioluminescence.

The tempestuous "Spoiled" bets on EBM-inspired aggressive rhythm, biting arpeggios, and Valeria’s siren-like vocals – the perfect bait for lovers of dancing to obscure tunes. A fusion of industrial grit and ethereal melodies, it’s a track that pulls you into a whirlpool of sonic tension and release.

The playful disco rhythms of "Caribbean Sea" will inevitably lure you into the darkest depths of the Unconscious – just before the EP gently exhales with the tender synth-lullaby of "Dense Ocean". Lush pads, italo-disco vibes and celestial harmonies wrap around you like a comforting tide, a contrast to the EP’s earlier intensity, making for a mesmerising finale.

The next offering on Crosstown Rebels comes from Italian trio Pastaboys, who gift us with a rhythmic and hypnotic three-parter. They invite the inimitable Rebolledo to take on remix duties to complete this package.

The EP is a trance-inducing affair. The trio lure us in with opener Kolo Kolo . Its funky rhythm sets a precedent as its trance-inducing power builds layer upon layer into an intoxicating and hypnotic groove. Abbassa is up next. Heavy on the bass, with a sensuality that is palpable. The African vocal adds a tribal touch before the track tumbles into a crescendo of urgent synths. Rebolledo’s version of Abbassa is a more cosmic affair, staying true to his psychedelic inclinations and with an added a bass guitar groove.

Pastaboys have been releasing music since the dawn of the new millenium. They’ve showcased their tasteful and highly refined productions on imprints such as 83 West and Defected. Releases such as Born Again, Body Resonance, Limit, Hozho, Deep Musique prove that their music is timeless and that dance music is still a matter of groove and soul.

“Uncanny Valleys” compilation series is related to the theory introduced by japanese robotitian Mori Masahiro back in 1970, referring to the paradoxical perception of the existing similarities between a robot and human beings.
Hereby graphically represented in the artwork as the moment the curve goes under the horizontal axis, Sven incorporated human and non-human elements with collage technique, blurring the line where humans and robots differ.
This first opus is made out of Techno-EBM tracks spanning from old school EBM identity to a more contemporary approach of body music.
The whole compilation was released on the 15 of October in Digital and Textile Flag formats.
