Starbolt 9 is melodious space rock, conceived by stellar frontman Joe Medici. The band's fusion of classic glam rock, post punk and modern Brit-pop has raised more than a few eyebrows, earning them comparisons to legends such as David Bowie, Echo and The Bunnymen and The Verve, and the praise of Sex Pistols founder, Glen Matlock. Medici's dark, ultra-expressive vocals and new romantic lyrical musi...ngs are complimented by the lush, hypnotic guitar lines of Mik Rodriguez, the psychedelic keyboard soundscapes and classical piano embellishments of Jeff Binder, the monstrous, yet precise, bass thunder of Nicky "Beast" Bowman and the solid rhythmic pulse of drummer Patsy Bennett. Starbolt 9 has now become New York City's foremost neo-glam band.
In the classic tradition of the Stones & U2, Starbolt 9 bring a sensational and unique live energy to the stage. They have awed audiences up and down the east coast, from The Mercury Lounge, NYC to The Masquerade in Atlanta. They were recently one of only 25 other artists chosen to participate in the All About Music festival in Nashville, TN. They have played alongside notable artists such as Lady GaGa, The Fiery Furnaces, Slinky Vagabond, We Are The Fury, and Spindrift. They have performed live for 107.7 WACC in Connecticut and 90.3FM WMSC Radio in Montclair, NJ. Starbolt 9 are also featured regularly on 93.30 FM in Argentina.
