On its third release, @Deviant-Disco-1 continues to dig up lesser known gems of various origins with a hot batch of four brand new edits. The French rarities label sticks to its peculiar aesthetics and welcomes you once again to an enthralling musical trip — starting with Tchamy Patterson’s groovy & percussive afrobeat only to spiral into Barnes' and Ygalove's hypnotic The Mongol Raid slow-mo trance edit and steering from La Décadanse's tropical and sensual rework of vintage hit Amazoniaque all the way down to Éric Vincent's obscure 80s French erotica.

'The Mongol Raid' is the result of Deviant Disco's new beat connoisseur Ygal Ohayon (@trashdisco) aka Ygalove teaming up with mysterious producer Barnes (from Barnes & Wobble). Ygal bumped into a trancy, unmarked german white label from the 90s ; he pulled the age-old 'oops — wrong speed' 33 RPM trick and waited for Barnes to come along with his magic scissors. With the cheeky addition of an oriental synth going properly bananas, their collaboration gave rise to this entirely rebuilt, borderline industrial tune. A wholesome slow trance monster!Release

The small boat bobbed on the water, looking for a place to dock before dawn broke. The two brothers scanned the shore before honing in on a derelict cove shrouded in darkness. They couldn't be caught, they had travelled for too long to risk their cover being blown. As they moored up and stepped on to solid ground, they gazed up at the famous skyline before them; a sight they had only ever seen before in books and paintings. This would be their new home; a place where they could make their names known. The unsuspecting city had no idea what they were in for...

Lithuanian-based producer Pletnev returns to local label Le Temps Perdu for his second EP, following his 2017 debut with 'St. Bones'. His diverse productions have taken him to labels like SZE, Fleeting Wax, Meda Fury and Hard Fist, with sounds spanning percussive tools to EBM and leftfield cuts. His forthcoming EP, 'Voranto Bros', features blinding remixes from CockTail d'Amore bosses Discodromo and Biologic Records' Lion's Drums.

The river was the only route out of the city. It stretched for miles and miles, ebbing and flowing with the breeze that carried it along. Dark green leaves and sprawling branches formed a canopy over the water, protecting this natural place from prying eyes. It felt peaceful, a place for escaping the stresses of city life. In fact, this river held many secrets, stories that would make your hair stand on end. Its beauty was simply a facade...

Next up on XXX, the Dutch label run by DJ and producr SHMLSS, is good friend and Bordello A Parigi alumni Stijn Sadée. After two contributions to earlier releases for the label, he's now set to release his first original EP on the label, which features a remix from Smala boss Manfredas that they locked in after the Lithuanian producer saw Stijn play live last year. The aesthetics of the label are down to Stijn's brother Thomas who worked closely with him to create something that fitted with the music and his influences.

He was tired of this world, where the most important aspect of anything is outer, visible part. From pigs that just look greasy. From families that seem happy and prosperous. He was tired of the fact that only at first glance it seems generosity. Or love.
The latest Imbeciles single, once more surrounds itself with on-point remix talent that sings from the very same song sheet as the band. On this occasion we're treated to the idiosyncratic, left-field stylings of Suzanne Kraft, the raw, spit and sawdust vibes of Mark Broom's 'Rattlesnake Riddim'; and the full throttle, attitude-loaded warehouse Techno of Duncan Forbes.

2020 will be remembered as the year that the entire world was on lockdown, with almost the whole population locked up in their houses, producers have seen in their studios the best way to escape this tragic situation. MPC’s, Drum Machines and Synthesizers have been (and still are) like time machines that along with their creativity have built new dimensions far away from the currently reality and where they have found their own personal freedom.
MM Discos introducing you this compilation where most of the tracks were created during this hard times of Covid-19, and that joins homies and forthcoming featured artists to the label along with some well respected artists from the downbeat-balearica scene. An amazing trip to a “not-forbidden” paradise created from the home studio.
Starting with a small ambient appetizer signed by “Modern Obscure Music” capo Pedro Vian, the album dares to explore different styles, turning more tropical with the works from Rompante and Document Swell to something more floor oriented with the tracks from LuKKas and the one from Da Silva, one of the thinking heads of MM Discos.
Barcelona’s based producer Mateis E. Aquir does his thing producing something more organic and selvatic while “Is it Balearic?” recording commanders Coyote put the album in a Leftfield-Dub-Rastafari mood. Tribal italian maestro Josè Manuel does what he knows best and signs a very personal, ethnic and dreamlike work.
On the other hand, Portuguese producer Jepe imprints a magical and dreamy touch in the compilation followed by the laid back style from greek balearica devotes Bonnie & Klein that will bring us straight to the Cayman Islands, and last but not least, this amazing Neo-Funky styled cut from Russian’s hero Volta Cab.

In 2019 we received a-lot of tracks from Mytron, and we were immediately hooked. Unfortunately not all the tracks could fit the vinyl.
Hard choices had to be made and thereby we are super happy to share this EP with you.
Even more exciting is that we asked San Soda to make a remix under his New Beat moniker, Nick Berlin.

This resulted in a diverse EP with original tracks by Mytron (ft. Dreems) which could be played at every moment in a set (hopefully in clubs and festivals again soon).
To top it off, the remix by Nick Berlin (aka San Soda) will certainly be liked among New Beat lovers.

Joining Belgian like-minded souls DC Salas (SF003), Front De Cadeaux (SF008) and VoiceKoder(SF015) on Mugwump’s Subfield roaster, is now Jimi After, a successful soundtrack composer who sometimes discreetly ventures into electronic dance music. Past releases on NYC’s Throne of Blood, France's Correspondant & Days of Being Wild or Belgium's Smile/PIAS, were previously supported by a diverse cast of contemporary dj’s such as Bill Brewster, Marc Pinol, ALFOS, Daniel Avery, Jennifer Cardini, Cosmo Vitelli, Ivan Smagghe or Jimpster.  "Breaking The Ritual" is the first extract of the "Child Of The Sun EP" and sees Jimi After venturing further in cross-pollination with a strong cinematic, yet metallic feeling which effortlessly hybrids Rephlex esthetics with vintage cosmic and heavy kraut synths.

How does it sound
if a piano is romping 
and a rhythm is stomping, 
stumbling over glowing voices along the way?

We didn’t know either. 

But when Paul and the Hungry Wolf were jamming in the studio around the final days of 2018, one particular outcome of those sessions could be described just as that.

By then, the Munich Duo had already established themselves as residents in several of the city’s most beloved electronic spots hosting international club nights for years. Their newest adventure around that time was ‘Galactico’, a monthly party series with regular guests like Skatebård, Young Marco or Massimiliano Pagliara. Until early 2020, those ‘dance classes for the intergalactic community’ gorgeously prospered into Paul and Daniel’s version of a perfect party, combining niche dance music with other arts and being an open and happy space for everyone.

But back to the hard-to-describe tune from the beginning… The immediate working title became ‘Mister Wonky’, thanks to its unusual rhythmical nature. Given the track’s rather chilled vibe, the two friends were surprised and excited that it constantly created such positive dance floor vibes, every time they tested it out in their DJ sets. When they asked one of their favourite producers, Philipp Lauer aka the disco phenomenon from Frankfurt, if he could imagine a remix for Galactico’s label start, he choose ‘Mister Wonky’. The resulting ‘Lauer Remix’ is an enchanting demonstration of his undeniable melodic qualities combined with a dreamy, abstract and partly rougher attitude that could easily make Lauer’s version that kind of growing, blissful festival weapon, we’re so dearly hoping to experience together again soon.
