“When we first reached out to Kanika about the potential of working together, the idea was to meet up in New York at our studio and work on a song or two. No pressure, just get together and see what happens. What happened was there was an instant spark and we wrote a bunch of songs over the course of a few days. TAUK has been a band for over ten years so it was so exciting to experience how natural it was having Kanika jump into the mix. It really is a collaboration where the band is staying true to itself and Kanika is bringing her own thing but there’s a blend that works. This collection of songs stems from that initial meet up and feels like a jumping off point to see where else we can take it from here.”
