• “For the past year or so, I’ve found myself getting closer and closer to developing my own style and sound of electronic music composition. Sound design wise, this track features some of my favorites yet, with the aggressively processed drum machine, and the warped sounds of various sample manipulations. When writing music, I often find myself more interested in the sonic textures of the instruments, rather than the notes their playing, and because of that, rather than writing a complex chord progression, I end up writing what I would call a “sound progression.”

• “A production that will probably always pop into my head anytime I think of the
friendship and comradery between myself and my fellow SRT classmates. This modern hip-hop banger features performances by Delvante Fluellen and Chase Deshazo, as well as what I would call my most commercially viable hip-hop beat to date. Once again, I really enjoyed finding creative ways to mix the lead vocals and adlibs to help accentuate
the lyrics and aesthetic of the track.”

• “I was asked by Travis in December of 2018 to record his solo for trumpet. He managed to get two of our own SFA SOM Members to perform each part and made for one heck of a premiere (this was the first time Travis heard it performed live.) We did two-three takes (which was all we needed) but ended up going with the very first one.”

• “An Old School Rock Song written by my Dad’s band from the late '70’s-'80’s. In terms of sound design, I was really looking to try and channel the energy of that classic rock sound, and what better way to do that, than to do it old school (to an extent.) It was tracked live in a studio in Houston, edited on a computer, and mixed analog on the SRT SSL console for the most part.”

• “After I heard the original version of the “The City” on Corinna’s Soundcloud account I was amazed by the songwriting and feeling put into the demo, and really wanted to see what it would sound like in full production form. After collaborating with more of my friends from the School of Music, I was able to put together a new, fully fleshed out version of that heartfelt demo. Production wise, it features contrasting sections of minimal instrumentation and maximal instrumentation.”

• “In the Summer of 2018, I was fortunate enough to get with Percussion Graduate Student
Malcolm Jackson to record some of the marimba pieces he had worked up. With this
recording, my goal was to heavily immerse the listener into the sound of the raw sound of
the marimba and potentially provide a listening experience similar to someone playing
the instrument. The dynamic range is wide, and the sound is intimate.”

Austin State University Music Majors capture pristine quality performances with pristine quality skill and equipment. While always welcome to having sessions at the studio, the duo have made an emphasis in on location and field recording. Whether that be the recital hall, practice room, church, live venue, you name it, where your music happens, the recording happens.
