Clan Analogue presents Victris, the majestic second album from Sydney producer Aeriae (Wade Clarke). With its expansive sound palette and baroque compositional approach, Victris encompasses precision-engineered sound design, emotional resonance and disparate genre influences filtered through classic IDM abstraction. The hypersequenced excitation of opener 'Revered Daughter' is a gateway to ten tracks exploring musical possibilities from dancefloor volition (Nurse 2 Alyssa Type) to sub bass scale (Sword of State), classic counterpoint (The Book of Peace) to sculpted beats (Heiress).

Ambitious in texture, programming and melodic design, Victris explores the modern sonic parameters of electronica through the prism of deep historical insight into music, production and technology. With Bach-influenced melodic counterpoint, Spector-inspired mono mixes for discipline and impact, and the use of sonic detritus from the world of obsolete technology, colliding concepts of sound have been reconfigured for new expression in the modern digital age.

Aeriae is Sydney-based electronic composer and producer Wade Clarke. His grandfather was an engineer and almost-concert pianist, and Wade grew up playing the piano by ear. Aeriae’s novel aesthetic is informed as much by Warp figureheads like Autechre as by classical music and 80s electronic film scores like Tron and Escape From New York. Wade's other involvements include writing, reviewing, Interactive Fiction, illustration and the Apple II.

After Kill Climate Deniers comes The Bolted Report
“Ah, Canberra. Plenty of bong for your buck. Drug-addled politicians. Drugged kids reading ‘Kill Climate Deniers’. This is lower than the original town of Acton, sunk beneath the lake this last century.”

When Andrew Bolt got wind of some lucrative arts funding going towards a possibly subversive theatre show called Kill Climate Deniers, telling the story of an explosive attack on Parliament House by a group of eco-terrorists, he wasted no time in unleashing his blog readership to vent their vitriol. Reuben Ingall and David Finnigan took the assorted ensuing rantings and incorporated them into the single 'Bolted' from their concept album Kill Climate Deniers, released in September by Clan Analogue.

Following on from the album’s release Clan Analogue are pleased to follow up with Ingall and Finnigan’s new EP The Bolted Report. Along with the original version of ‘Bolted’ (in both extended album version and radio edit form) comes four remixes of ‘Bolted’ exploring the philosophy of Bolt and his followers through the prism of a range of electronic and dance music styles, from classic late-80s techno to modern bounce.

When EMF mainman James Atkin heard that Kill Climate Deniers was soundtracked by classic dancefloor bangers from the late-80s and early-90s he jumped on board with full house piano riffs blazing to provide his ‘Unbelievable’ remix. 
Wade Clarke, the genius behind Aeriae, provides a hyperkinetic IDM mix under his new side project alias Profound Actor. 
Electronica despot Future Conduits cracks open Bolt's skull with his FUKD & BOMBD mix, sliding 90's drug hysteria into KCD's modern climate concerns. 

Reuben Ingall gets bouncy as Dead Joke DJ with his tangential revisit. 

Finally Iubar Project stretch and mangle the blustering verbiage of Bolt and his acolytes in a sonic attempt to explore their innermost thought processes. 

The lyrics for ‘Bolted’ are by Andrew Bolt writing about Kill Climate Deniers, and from his commenters and fellow bloggers: 'The Left is the natural home of the modern totalitarian - and of all those who feel entitled by their superior morality to act as savages.'

What happens when homegrown Australian terrorism meets the classic beats of early house and techno? When the unstoppable force of climate change meets the immovable object of Australian politics?
Newly released by Australia's pre-eminent electronic music collective Clan Analogue is a unique (and bizarre) collaboration between musician/producer Reuben Ingall and playwright David Finnigan.
Kill Climate Deniers is a 35-minute barrage of dancefloor bangers in the style of classic House and Techno from 1988-92 - mixed with samples from Finnigan's original stage-play of the same name. It tells the story of an explosive attack on Parliament House by a group of eco-terrorists (during a Fleetwood Mac concert, no less) and the Environment Minister's one-woman war to take back her country.
The result is an anthemic club album threaded through with blistering political satire and a guns-blazing action adventure set at the heart of Australian democracy.

David Finnigan is an Australian writer and theatre artist. Working with research scientists in the UK, Australia and Sweden, he creates work exploring climate and systems science. David is a Churchill Fellow and an Australia Council Early Career Fellow.
Reuben Ingall makes hi-tech lo-fi music with an array of home-made software patches, algorithmically mangling his guitar, voice and other sources to create lush soundscapes and lonely drone. His other projects include the radio program Subsequence, mixing and mastering bands, and a mashup-DJ act. He has worked on music for installations, theatre, e-publications, film and dance.

The perilous-eponymous journey of Aeriae's new release Peril Triage opens with ‘Firmament’, a vortex in which a steadfast beat and subsonic organ riffs eventually collide with a searing synth sky.

Aeriae continues to carve out his unique space in modern electronic music production with Peril Triage, the new 7-track EP out now on Clan Analogue. A hyperkinetic evocation of threat, paranoia and psychological response, Peril Triage emerged following Aeriae’s touring to support his enigmatic 2014 album release Victris. 

Honing the Aeriae controllerism setup through live performance enabled heightened levels of instinct and drama during the atypically rapid (for Aeriae) composition and production process for Peril Triage. Previous Aeriae releases were heedless of whether they could be reproduced live in any practical sense. With Peril Triage, Aeriae takes a set produced especially for live performance back into the studio environment to synthesise the two approaches. The result is a gapless forty-three minute set of labyrinthine synth programming and rising tempo. Beneath the pace and skittering beat design, compositional structures morph slowly via the producer’s trademark serialist melodic figures and intricate sound design, always with an ear towards the ultimate emotional destination.
