My kids, Sylvie (then aged 7) and Colette (3) wrote some lyrics and a melody. I put chords to it, recorded a version, got them to sing on it, then filled in the gaps (and rocked it up a bit).

The guitar solo is built around an expressive melody performed on an electric guitar with a slight overdrive. The sound is warm, rich in nuances: bends, vibrato, slides. The structure is free - the culmination is built on the dynamics and intensity of the solo performed

This is a a re-working of an epic track which initially 
featured on our first proper studio album 'Nothing Is Written' back  in 1991. This recording was made especially for 'When Worlds Collide', our new double CD retrospective celebrating 30 years of Galahad music and incorporating several re-workings of older tracks including this one. This version also features our very own tribute to the late great Tommy Vance who was supportive of the band in the early 1990s.

Melt

An atmospheric track using only Mellotron samples giving a retro 60s vibe. This track was written during the 'Empires' sessions but was never completed or included on the final album. However it will shortly appear as part of a companion CD to a very special up and coming Galahad release.......

5. This Is Where I Come From (Mellotron Showcase Demo)

This is the orchestral version of 'Empires Never Last' recorded especially for and  previously only available on the double vinyl LP version of 'Empires Never last' album.
