Toolroom’s Danny Rhys is back on the firm with new club record, ‘Switch’. His recent successes, particularly the collaboration ‘La Flaca’ alongside Nausica, has further solidified his standing in the underground, garnering support from heavyweights like Fatboy Slim, Danny Howard, Claptone, Duke Dumont and Arielle Free. Over the past few years, Danny Rhys has played a pivotal role as a member of the A&R team at Toolroom, championing the main room tech house sound that has fast become his signature. Label boss Mark Knight continuous to mentor Danny, including the position to co-host his Saturday night KISS show. ‘Switch’ is perfect club material. Jackin drums, playful synth patterns and a UKG inspired vocal which illustrates Danny Rhys’ musical prowess and reinforces his influence at the label.

Austrian producer Mr. Käfer reflects on his North African roots with new single “Dawn At The Souk” from the forthcoming EP “Orientation”.

One year ago we released “Lost Reflections”, a nine track mini-album by Mr. Käfer and Californian saxophonist Gavin Lord on tape and digital. Since then Mr. Käfer finished his music studies in Salzburg (Austria) and moved to Cologne (Germany) where he did an internship at Melting Pot Music. He has released two solo albums / EPs on Tape Invader and Chillhop Music and a collabo project with Flitz&Suppe and DDob.

With his new EP “Orientation” Mr. Käfer is stepping into new directions. Throughout five songs Mr. Käfer reflects on his North-African roots (he is half Austrian, half Algerian) and adds new sounds, vibes and tempi to his music. To orchestrate his vision Mr. Käfer has assembled a full band consisting of Makkako (guitar), Ruff I (double bass) and Christian Höll (Saxophone). Christian Höll has also co-written and co-produced the EP together with Mr. Käfer.

The visuals for “Orientation” have been created by UK artist Tilly Mint – best known for her artworks for Yazmin Lacey and C.Tappin.

“Orientation” will be available as digital EP and on vinyl LP as split album with Mr. Käfer‘s “Lost Reflections” EP.
